· 4 min read · By the Friends & Family team

The FINAL FANTASY XIV: Evercold Collector's Goods Box is $255 at the Square Enix Store, and the previous expansion's box has been selling for $80 to $130 on eBay. Our team's take: be careful.

What's worth a look today, and what isn't? The FINAL FANTASY XIV: Evercold Collector's Goods Box went up for pre-order on the Square Enix Store on November 4 at $255.00. Our team's read in the #lowkey-flips channel was cautious: these boxes "have not been great for us on previous expansions," and this one costs more than the one the team looked at two years ago. The last expansion's goods box has recently sold on eBay for roughly $80 to $130, well under what this one costs at retail. Here are the price, the dates, the policy and the math.

How much is the FFXIV Evercold Collector's Goods Box?

From the Square Enix Store product page, read on November 5, 2026:

  • Evercold Collector's Goods Box (physical items only): $255.00. The page lists five items: the Evercold Special Art Box, an Expertly Crafted Reaper Figure, an Ethos Metal Keychain, a Köttr Mini Plush and the Tapestry of the Fourth.
  • Evercold Collector's Bundle (physical box plus the digital Collector's Edition): $319.99, per the official Evercold product page.
  • The store listing is the only place the goods box is sold; Square Enix calls it available exclusively on the Square Enix Store.

Square Enix's store also showed a $9.99 delivery charge in the search listing we saw, so budget about $265 before tax for one box. Check your own cart for the final number.

Evercold release date and pre-order dates

Square Enix says Evercold launches on February 23, 2027, with early access starting February 19, 2027. Pre-orders opened November 4, 2026. Check the product page for the ship date shown at checkout, since that decides how long your money is tied up.

What the last goods box sold for on eBay

We checked eBay's sold listings for the Dawntrail Collector's Box (no game) on November 5, 2026. These are completed sales, not asking prices:

  • Mostly $80 to $130 for brand new or open-box copies sold in the United States between August 7 and October 31, 2026 (for example $79.92 on August 28, $100 on September 17, $125 on August 7, and $130 on August 16, October 30 and October 31).
  • A few higher sales: $149.99 on October 27 and one at $249.99 on August 19 that included extra items in the listing title.
  • Buyers also paid shipping on top of most of these prices.

Older boxes are priced differently: some Endwalker boxes sold between roughly $240 and $330 in our check, but that was a different product at a different retail price, so we don't treat it as a comparison for Evercold.

The math: $255 in, what comes out?

Our team said the last box looked bad after the fact. In the channel, one staff member said earlier expansions "wound up being bricks" after a slow start on the store site. Using the recent sold range as a rough guide:

  • Cost: $255.00 plus about $9.99 delivery, before tax.
  • Recent sold range for the previous goods box: $80 to $130, before eBay fees and shipping.
  • Even the top of that range sits well below what the new box costs.

A new expansion's box could trade differently, but we can't point to a sold sale for the Evercold box yet because it hasn't shipped, so any higher price is a guess.

Can you cancel or return it? Square Enix's policy

Our team said they believe the store allows cancellations and that it has returns, but flagged that they needed to confirm that again. We could not confirm the cancellation part ourselves, so check the store's pre-order terms before you buy.

What we did verify is the Square Enix Returns Policy (last updated January 17, 2024):

  • You can return eligible products within 14 days of receiving them, and you contact the Customer Support Centre to start the return.
  • If you live in the US, any product that is opened is not eligible for return, unless it is faulty or the wrong item.
  • Refunds in the US cover the product price, not shipping.

So the return window only helps if you leave the box sealed. If you plan to sell it, the only safe route is selling it sealed.

Flip, hold or pass? Our take

Pass for resale, unless you want the box for yourself. The team's own history with these boxes is lukewarm, the retail price is higher than last time, and recent comps for the previous box are at or below half of what this one costs. If you are a long-time FFXIV player who wants the Reaper figure and the art box, that is a different decision from a flip, and it's your call.
