Every Secret Lair release

Secret Lair Drop Alerts and Queue Bypass Links, Sent Straight to Your DMs

Every member can skip the line. We run our bypass tool for every Secret Lair drop, and anyone who wants the drop gets a DM with a link to check out instead of waiting in the queue.

  1. 01

    A drop goes live

A new Secret Lair release opens on Wizards’ store, and the queue starts to build.

  2. 02

    We run the bypass

Our bypass tool runs for every Secret Lair release.

  3. 03

    You get a DM

If you want the drop, a message lands in your Discord DMs with a link to check out.

  4. 04

    Check out, no line

Tap the link and check out yourself, without waiting in the queue.

A link gets you to checkout without the wait. Stock and per-person limits are set by Wizards, and popular drops can still sell out, so there’s no guarantee you’ll get one.

What Our MTG Discord Covers

Queue bypass in your DMs

For every Secret Lair drop we run our bypass tool, and members who want the drop get a DM with a link to check out instead of waiting in the queue. Staff also post in the Magic channel and hang out in a voice channel while it runs.

Buy, hold or pass calls

Staff say whether a release looks worth buying, worth putting away or worth skipping, with the estimated profit after fees where it makes sense.

Sets & Commander decks

Coverage of new set and Commander deck releases, so you know what’s coming and what’s worth your money before it hits shelves.

Retail drops

Heads-up on retail on-sales, like Target drops for Universes Beyond products, with links posted so you can check out fast.

Straight talk

When a release is uncertain or prices look soft, staff say so. That includes updates like shipping-date changes and cancellations after a sellout.

More than Magic

The TCG plan also covers Pokémon and One Piece. Members who get through a drop can share it in the success channel.

New to flipping? Our guide to how to start reselling covers picking a category, checking sold prices and making your first flip without a bot.

How to Choose an MTG Group: 8 Checks Before You Pay

Magic groups come in several kinds, and they are not interchangeable. Whichever MTG groups you compare, check:

  1. 1

What kind of group is it?

Playgroups meet to play and draft. Trading servers swap cards. Finance communities discuss prices. Reselling groups focus on buying products and selling them again. Make sure you are looking at the kind you want.

  2. 2

Does it cover what you will actually buy?

Secret Lair drops, Collector Boosters, Commander decks and retail on-sales are different products with different timing. Check which ones the group covers.

  3. 3

Are calls explained with sold prices and fees?

A call should say more than “buy”. Look for sold-price checks and what fees and shipping take.

  4. 4

Do staff ever tell you to pass?

Plenty of Magic releases won’t beat fees. A group that says when prices look soft is more useful than one that hypes everything.

  5. 5

How do alerts reach you, and how fast?

Compare an alert to the moment the drop actually goes live, and note how it reaches you: a ping, a DM, a link.

  6. 6

Can you ask a real person a question?

Ask a specific question on day one and time the reply.

  7. 7

Are the trial and cancellation terms easy to find?

Price, billing date, trial length and refund terms should be written down before you pay.

  8. 8

    Does it avoid promises?

Magic prices go down as well as up, and Secret Lair orders can take months to ship. Be careful with anyone who guarantees a return.

Run any Magic group through these checks, ours included. For the full 10-point scorecard, read our guide to the best resell groups.

How MTG Reselling Works: Secret Lair, Sealed and Singles

Not every Magic release is worth buying to resell. Secret Lair reselling, sealed product and singles all behave differently, and knowing which is which, and what fees take, is the whole game.

  • Secret Lair drops

Secret Lair is Wizards of the Coast’s official Magic online store, selling themed card drops. Wizards has said limited-run drops are here to stay, so stock is finite and popular drops sell out, often behind a queue. Since a change announced in August 2024 most sales no longer have a hard end date, but that doesn’t mean stock lasts.

  • Are drops profitable?

It depends on the drop. An MTGGoldfish analysis of nine early drops found none lost money but only a few roughly doubled, and it noted Wizards prices drops close to the cost of the cards. That was early on, and each drop is different, so check sold prices before you buy.

  • Shipping & backorders

Secret Lair shows estimated shipping windows that Wizards says can change if production or shipping is delayed, and it has acknowledged manufacturing delays on some drops. Factor the wait into what you spend, since your money can be tied up for months.

  • Play & Collector Boosters

Play Boosters are the standard booster for a new set, and they replaced the old Set and Draft Boosters. Collector Boosters are the premium version with rares, traditional foils and special treatments. Wizards lists local game stores, TCGplayer, Amazon, Best Buy and GameStop as places to buy.

  • Commander decks

Commander is a 100-card format built around a legendary creature, and Commander decks are ready-to-play versions of it. A set can ship with several, like Star Trek’s four, plus Collector’s Edition versions. Wikipedia’s MTG finance article describes Commander products as among Wizards’ best-performing.

  • Singles vs. sealed

MTG investing covers single cards and sealed product like booster boxes. Singles are bought for what players want to play or how scarce a card is, while sealed product is a bet on unopened boxes and packs. Either way, prices can fall as well as rise.

  • Where to sell & fees

eBay’s final value fee in Collectible Card Games is 13.25% of the sale up to $7,500 plus a per-order fee of $0.30 or $0.40. TCGplayer charges Marketplace sellers (levels 1 to 4) a 10.75% commission plus payment processing. Card Kingdom’s buylist pays a percentage of its Near Mint buy price, with PayPal or store credit issued within 24 hours of a finalized order. Fees change, so check the current pages.

Where MTG Products Sell: eBay, TCGplayer, Mercari, Facebook Marketplace and Amazon

The same card or sealed product can net a different amount depending on where it sells. Compare fees, shipping and rules before you buy.

  • eBay

    Fees
13.25% for trading cards; 13.6% for most other categories, including vinyl. Plus $0.30 per order of $10 or less, or $0.40 above $10. The fee is charged on the item price, shipping and sales tax.
    Often used for
The biggest audience, sold-price history, and selling a preorder before it ships
    Watch out for
Returns and buyer disputes; new-seller selling limits; presale listings must say “presale” and ship within 40 business days
    eBay selling fees
  • TCGplayer

    Fees
About 10.75% marketplace commission plus payment processing (raised from 10.25% in February 2026).
    Often used for
Magic singles and sealed product from a buyer base that already shops there
    Watch out for
Heavy price competition on common singles; shipping rules for low-value orders
    TCGplayer seller fees
  • Mercari

    Fees
10% of the item price plus buyer-paid shipping. Listing is free, and the old payment-processing fee was removed for new listings in January 2025. New prepaid shipping label prices start October 19, 2026.
    Often used for
Casual buyers, quick listings and lower-priced items
    Watch out for
Shipping prices change on October 19, 2026, so re-check your shipping math; smaller audience for high-end items
    Mercari fees
  • Facebook Marketplace

    Fees
10% per transaction with an $0.80 minimum on orders paid through Meta's checkout, calculated on the sale price, shipping and taxes. In-person sales don't go through checkout, so check Meta's current terms.
    Often used for
Local pickup of bulky items such as lots and large boxes
    Watch out for
No-shows and scams on local meetups; keep payments and messages on the platform
    Meta merchant terms
  • Amazon

    Fees
Individual plan $0.99 per item sold, or Professional plan $39.99 a month, plus a referral fee that varies by category (5% to 45% across Amazon's table). Media, which Amazon says includes vinyl, is 15% plus a $1.80 closing fee per item.
    Often used for
Sealed, in-stock products with existing listings
    Watch out for
Some categories are open to everyone, some need a Professional plan and some need Amazon's approval; check Seller Central for your exact product first
    Amazon selling plans and fees

Fees checked October 2, 2026 from each marketplace's own page, and they change, so confirm before you list. Fees, shipping and taxes reduce what you keep. eBay's Collectible Card Games category uses the 13.25% rate. Some of the eBay links on this page are affiliate links. Magic: The Gathering Group FAQ

What is an MTG group or MTG Discord?

An MTG group is a community, usually on Discord, where Magic: The Gathering players and resellers share what’s releasing, what’s worth buying and what it sells for. Ours is part of Friends & Family, a reselling group on Discord: staff cover Secret Lair drops, new set and Commander deck releases and retail drops, and post buy, hold or pass calls.

How do I get Secret Lair drop alerts?

Wizards announces drops on the Secret Lair site, its email list and its social accounts, and there can be a gap between a drop going live and you seeing it. In our Discord, staff post in the Magic channel, and members who want a drop get a DM with a checkout link. Popular drops can still sell out, so there are no guarantees.

Can you make money reselling Magic: The Gathering cards?

Some people do, and many don't. Nothing is guaranteed. Profit is what an item sells for minus what you paid, fees, shipping and supplies, and prices can fall after you buy. Check sold listings rather than asking prices, and only spend money you can afford to lose.

Where can I sell Magic cards: eBay, TCGplayer, Mercari or Facebook Marketplace?

All four work for different products. eBay charges 13.25% in Collectible Card Games, TCGplayer about 10.75% for Marketplace sellers, Mercari 10% of the item price plus buyer-paid shipping, and Facebook Marketplace 10% (with an $0.80 minimum) on orders paid through checkout. Amazon may require approval for some categories. The fee table on this page was checked in October 2026.

What is the difference between MTG investing and reselling?

Reselling is buying a product, often at retail, and selling it again, usually within weeks or months. Investing in Magic usually means holding cards or sealed product for years. Both carry risk, prices can fall, and nothing here is financial advice.

Do I need a bot?

No. On Secret Lair drops we send you a checkout link by DM through our queue bypass, and you check out yourself. Our free ACO (auto checkout) covers Pokémon and One Piece only, not Magic.

What is a Secret Lair?

Secret Lair is Wizards of the Coast’s official Magic online store, which sells themed card drops. Drops are limited-run, so popular ones sell out and can have long queues. Estimated shipping dates can change.

Are Secret Lairs worth it as an investment?

Sometimes, not always. Wizards prices drops close to the cost of the cards, some drops hold or gain value and others don’t, and orders can take months to ship. Our staff say when a release is uncertain and, on some drops, suggest putting it away rather than expecting a quick flip. Nothing here is financial advice and there are no guarantees.

How much does the MTG group cost?

Magic is included in Friends and Family TCG: $6 a week, billed through Square. It also covers Pokémon and One Piece. The Complete plan, $20 a week or $60 a month, includes everything in TCG plus sports cards, Lego, vinyl and more.

Do I have to resell, or are collectors welcome?

Collectors are welcome. Plenty of members join to get Secret Lairs and Commander decks at the price Wizards or retailers charge instead of paying resale prices, and many do both: keep one, sell one.

How does the Secret Lair queue bypass work?

For every Secret Lair release we run our bypass tool. Members who want the drop get a DM with a link to check out, instead of waiting in the queue. Staff also post in the Magic channel and are in a voice channel while the drop runs. Our goal is one link to every member who needs one within about 10 minutes of a drop going live. Stock and limits are set by Wizards, and popular drops can still sell out, so we can’t promise a result.

Know Which Drops Are Worth It

Join the Magic group today. It’s part of our full reselling group. Into Pokémon cards? See our Pokémon group, or our Lego group for retiring sets.
