The Pokémon x Beats Pill goes on sale Thursday, October 15 for $149.99, the same price as a regular Beats Pill. It's a Pokémon collab from a mainstream electronics brand, which makes it a fresh product type for resellers to watch. The short version of our take: treat it as a launch-day flip only if you can buy at retail, and don't pay up for it. It's the same speaker underneath, so the premium depends entirely on how fast it sells out.
Pokémon x Beats Pill: what we know
Beats announced the collab on October 13, after teasing it with a short video on October 12 ("Time to catch something new") and after photos of a boxed unit at Target leaked earlier in the month. Per Beats' official press release:
- Price: $149.99
- Launch: October 15. Several outlets report 8 a.m. PT / 11 a.m. ET; Beats' release itself only says it's available starting that day
- Where: apple.com and Target (online and select stores) in the US; Apple and Argos in the UK; Apple and Douyin in China
- Design: Pikachu in electric yellow and Mimikyu in grayscale across the grille, plus silver lightning bolts
- Extras: a removable carry lanyard with Poké Ball, Beats "b" and lightning bolt charms. Beats says it's the first Beats Pill to come with charms, and the box has an interactive Pokémon design
- Specs: same as the standard Pill: up to 24 hours of battery, IP67 dust and water resistance, USB-C lossless audio, and pairing two Pills in Amplify or Stereo mode
Beats hasn't said how many units it's making, and no restock has been announced.
Why resellers should care
Pokémon is the hottest license in collectibles right now. Our 30th Celebration card price tracking and the rest of the Pokémon TCG coverage show how quickly anniversary product moves. Non-card Pokémon items tend to sell to a wider crowd than card collectors, including people who just want the Pikachu speaker.
It's a crossover product. Buyers searching for it may never have looked at a Pokémon listing before, and Beats fans may not follow Pokémon news. Both groups can end up on eBay when stores sell out.
Two big retailers means two chances. Apple and Target both sell it, so you can try both at once. Each retailer has its own checkout and limits, so check them before you commit.
Flip, hold or pass? Our take
Launch-day flip: possible, but unproven. We don't have any sold-listing data yet because the speaker isn't out. The only real signal is demand, and that depends on how long it lasts on Apple and Target. If it sells out in minutes, expect a premium on eBay. If it sits in stock into the evening, there's no margin after fees.
Hold: a coin flip. Beats' own comparison point is a cautionary one. The Kim Kardashian special-edition Pill, which also launched at $149.99, was later seen discounted: Amazon listed it at about $100 during a 2024 sale and a Slickdeals thread noted a $99.95 price in November 2025. Charms and Pokémon art are a stronger hook than a colorway, but the speaker is a mass-produced electronic, not a numbered release.
Pass if you'd have to pay over retail. Without a confirmed sellout, there's nothing to chase.
How to approach launch day
- Check both retailers early. Be signed in at apple.com and Target before launch, with payment and address saved.
- Buy one or two, not ten. Expect order limits, and keep your risk small until you see how it trades.
- Check eBay sold listings after launch. Search "Pokémon Beats Pill" with the Sold and Completed filters on, and compare against $149.99 plus fees and shipping before you list.
- Know the return policy. Both retailers allow returns if it doesn't pan out, so read the window before buying.
- Keep it sealed. The charms and packaging are part of the appeal for collectors.
