Gundam Rogue Orbit Collector's Edition: $159.99 Flip?

· 3 min read · By the Friends & Family team

A game collector's edition that includes a Gunpla kit you cannot buy on its own, sold only on the Bandai Namco Store. Pre-orders are live and the first eBay sales are above the $159.99 retail price. Here is the case for and against.

The Gundam Rogue Orbit Collector's Edition costs $159.99 and is sold through the Bandai Namco Store. The game launches March 5, 2027 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC (Steam). Pre-orders are open.

The reason resellers should care is the box, not the game. It includes an HG 1/144 ARK-10 Gundam Helix (Earth Blue ver.) model kit, and Essential Japan reports that Bandai is not selling that kit separately.

What is in the Collector's Edition

Per Bandai Namco's announcement:

  • Everything in the Launch Edition: reversible cover art, an 11x17" poster and a Gundam Card Game promo card.
  • All Digital Deluxe content.
  • A steel case.
  • The exclusive HG 1/144 ARK-10 Gundam Helix (Earth Blue ver.) Gunpla.
  • Five Gundam Card Game promo cards.

Bandai's edition artwork also shows a pre-order bonus: an early unlock of the Earth Blue color customization in the game.

Release date and where to buy

  • Release: March 5, 2027. Bandai Namco and Gematsu both give this date. One outlet printed March 4, which looks like a typo.
  • Where: the Collector's Edition is a Bandai Namco Store edition. Bandai's news page says pre-orders are available and links to its store.
  • Other regions: the Japanese Collector's Edition is listed at 15,840 yen with tax, and a French store listing shows 139.99 euros, according to the search results we checked. We did not verify those on the stores themselves.

Why it matters for resale

  • A bundled Gunpla with no standalone release. Gunpla collectors buy kits regardless of the game, so a kit tied to one edition creates a second buyer pool.
  • A single retail source. Fewer places to buy means the aftermarket is the only option once the store sells through.
  • Early sales are above retail. Our releases page shows completed eBay sales averaging $248 across 3 sales as of October 5, 2026, against $159.99 retail.
  • Gundam game editions have a collector audience. A steel case, a poster and promo cards are the kinds of extras that get kept sealed.

Risks and the case against

  • Three sales is a very small sample. One buyer paying a lot can move that average. Check current completed listings before relying on it.
  • Edition size is unknown. We could not find a published quantity. If Bandai Namco makes plenty, the premium may not hold.
  • The game is unreleased. Reviews in March 2027 could help or hurt demand for the box. A weak launch usually hits resale of a game-linked bundle.
  • The Gunpla pool is narrower than it sounds. Many Gunpla buyers want the kit but not an HG scale one from a game bundle, and they may not pay a large premium.
  • Delays and cancellations. Ship dates can move, which ties up your cash.
  • Fees and shipping. Work out your net with our eBay seller fees calculator and reseller fees guide.

Flip, hold or pass

This is analysis, not a promise.

  • Flip: If you hold a pre-order and the price is above retail when the box ships. Because the game is not out, wait to see real sold prices rather than a three-sale average.
  • Hold: If you collect Gundam. The kit and the steel case are the keepers, and the game itself is a bonus.
  • Pass: Buying a pre-release listing well above $159.99 just to flip it. The premium can shrink before the box exists.
