Searches for "magic the gathering final fantasy booster box" rose about 50% over the past week in Google Trends (US). The answer people are looking for: on eBay, sealed Play Booster Boxes sold for about $210 to $265 in the last week and sealed Collector Booster Boxes for about $1,475 to $1,834, checked November 1, 2026. Wizards publishes no MSRP, so there is no official retail price to compare against. The set is also rare in one specific way: Wizards says only 77 English Collector Boosters contain a Serialized Traveling Chocobo.
Magic: The Gathering | FINAL FANTASY released on June 13, 2025 (prerelease events ran June 6 to 12, and Arena launched June 10), per Wizards' product page. This post covers what the boxes sell for now, why, and whether sealed is worth holding.
How much is a Final Fantasy MTG booster box?
Retail: Wizards does not publish MSRP for its products, and the official Final Fantasy page lists no prices. Third-party sources give different pre-release and launch-era figures, so treat them as market prices, not official ones:
- Play Booster Box (30 packs): a Draftsim guide from June 2025 describes a "paltry $200" Play Booster box as the sensible option. No source is named for that figure.
- Collector Booster Box (12 packs): Draftsim cited a TCGplayer market price of $999.71 around June 18, 2025, "still trending up", and said boxes had earlier sold for about $500 to $600. EDHREC listed $606.83 at 401 Games in an article dated May 18, 2025.
- Bundle: Draftsim says an "$85 bundle" works, again with no source named.
The 30-pack and 12-pack counts come from third-party guides; the official page does not give pack counts.
Final Fantasy booster box eBay sold prices
We checked eBay sold listings on November 1, 2026. Sealed, English, single boxes only. Two-box lots and the odd outliers are left out.
Play Booster Box (30 packs), sales from October 26 to November 1:
- Range $210.26 to $264.95, with most between $245 and $260.
- Recent sales: $223.28 on a 21-bid auction plus $18 shipping (Nov 1), $250.00 best offer (Nov 1), $240.00 auction (Oct 31), $259.69 (Oct 30), $248.88 (Oct 30), $249.00 (Oct 29), $249.98 (Oct 28), $264.95 (Oct 28), $255.00 (Oct 27) and $230.00 (Oct 27).
Collector Booster Box (12 packs), sales from October 17 to October 31:
- Range $1,475 to $1,834, with a clustering around $1,500 to $1,800.
- Recent sales: $1,532 auction (Oct 31), $1,800 (Oct 30), $1,740.82 (Oct 27), $1,727 auction (Oct 27), $1,475 (Oct 25), $1,527 auction (Oct 24), $1,753.26 (Oct 23), $1,777 auction (Oct 19) and $1,834 auction (Oct 18). One $2,230.88 sale on Oct 29 is an outlier.
Deck Builder Box with Play Boosters: two US sales at $49.00 (Oct 31) and $54.99 (Oct 30).
Compared with the $999.71 TCGplayer figure reported at the time of release in June 2025, the Collector Box sells for roughly 50% to 80% more today. For the Play Box, sealed copies are trading roughly $10 to $65 above the $200 figure Draftsim called sensible. Neither number is an official price, so these are comparisons with a third party's early market read, not with Wizards' list price.
How rare is the Final Fantasy set?
The only scarcity number Wizards publishes is 77: only 77 English Collector Boosters contain a Serialized Traveling Chocobo. Wizards gives no print run for the set and no sold-out statement. Because Collector Boxes hold 12 packs of the premium product that carries those chases, they are the expensive sealed product, and that is why the gap to the Play Box is so large.
Final Fantasy release date and status
The tabletop release was June 13, 2025, so this is no longer a new set. Prices today come more than a year after release. The eBay sold list shows Play Boxes and Collector Boxes both still selling most days at these prices, though a sold list does not tell us how many are still listed unsold.
Fee math
eBay's Collectible Card Games rate is 13.25% of the total sale amount (including shipping) up to $7,500, plus a per-order fee, per eBay's selling fees page, checked November 1, 2026. We use $0.40 per order.
| Item | Sells at | eBay fees | Left before shipping and your cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| Play Box | $250 | $33.53 | $216.47 |
| Collector Box | $1,600 | $212.40 | $1,387.60 |
| Collector Box | $1,800 | $238.90 | $1,561.10 |
Insured shipping on a Collector Box comes out of that net too. If you hold a box bought at or near the $999.71 June reference price, the spread after fees would be roughly $390 to $560. If you bought later at higher prices, the numbers shrink fast.
Return and shipping policy
Wizards does not sell these boxes directly. Policies depend on the seller. On eBay, return terms are set listing by listing, so check the listing before you bid. Never assume a return window on a four-figure sealed box.
Flip, hold or pass?
This is analysis, not a promise or financial advice.
- Flip: Only if you hold boxes bought well below today's levels. Collector Boxes have moved a lot already, and a $1,600 sale nets about $1,388 after fees before shipping and insurance.
- Hold: Reasonable for sealed Collector Boxes if you can afford to tie up four figures and accept price risk, since the only official scarcity number is the 77 serialized Chocobos. Nothing here guarantees a rise; sealed prices can fall too.
- Pass: On buying a Play Box above about $250 to flip. After fees and postage there is almost nothing left, and Play Boxes are common on the sold list.
