What's worth a look today? One item, and it's already gone from the retailer: The Slasher Stand Bag from Scotty Cameron's Halloween release. It sold out yesterday, so this is a "what happened and what now" post rather than a "go buy it" post. Everything below is our team's read from the private lowkey flips channel plus what we confirmed on Scotty Cameron's own site and on eBay this morning.
The Slasher Stand Bag: what it is and what happened
Scotty Cameron's product page describes The Slasher as a Pathfinder stand bag with a blood red digital print inspired by classic horror films, starring the brand's Hot Head Harry character. It has Circle T and 7 Point Crown appliqués, a Scotty Dog towel holder, custom zipper pulls and a matching rain hood.
What we read on the page today:
- Price: $495.00
- Status: Sold out
- Limits: the page says the Putter Studio may limit quantities per person, per household or per order at its discretion. It doesn't list a fixed number.
- Membership: the page doesn't mention a membership requirement.
The same release also included a headcover ($95), a Slasher cash bag ($80) and a Jackpot Johnny desk caddie ($65), and the team reported the headcover, the stand bag and the desk caddie as sold out (we didn't see a status for the cash bag). The team was watching for the Halloween drop around 11:30 a.m. Eastern yesterday (October 27). They said the headcover sold out on the front end, the bag followed within minutes, and the site seemed to be struggling, with the team suspecting a site issue and some items showing as out of stock while people kept trying.
The team's words on the drop itself: the worst they'd seen on Scotty. They also pointed to the stand bag as the safest target compared with the other three items, and said they expect the poor drop to be good for resale prices.
Retail vs. resale: what eBay shows right now
Retail was $495. Our team didn't put a firm resale number on it, only that they expect prices to be good. So here is what we could actually see.
We searched eBay for "Scotty Cameron Slasher Stand Bag" this morning (October 28, Eastern time). These were active listings, not sold ones. We couldn't load eBay's sold results, so we can't tell you what has actually sold.
- 45 results came up, and many of the new listings are tagged "PRESALE" in their titles.
- Fixed-price and best-offer asks we saw for brand-new bags mostly ran from about $745 to $825, with shipping varying from free to roughly $60.
- Two auctions were live in the $676 to $685 range with a few bids each.
Asking prices are just that. Listings can sit, and a "presale" title usually means the seller doesn't have the bag in hand yet. That's a real risk for buyers, and a reminder that you shouldn't count on a listing price until a sale actually clears.
Team take: The signal is positive on a sellout that got this messy, but with no sold comps yet, treat any number as unconfirmed. If you didn't get one, this is a watch-and-wait item, not a chase. If you did get one, the active asks above are the range to track.
Can you cancel or return it?
Straight from Scotty Cameron's pages:
- Returns: The product page says: "This item is limited, final sale and not returnable." Scotty Cameron's customer service page also says putters, handcrafted and limited edition items are final sale.
- Cancellation: we didn't find a cancellation policy on the pages we read, so assume an order can't be undone.
That's the opposite of a low-risk setup. If you flip a bag like this, you're relying entirely on resale demand, and you can't send it back. Run your own numbers, including fees and shipping, before you decide.
