Magic: The Gathering | Marvel Super Heroes came out on June 26, 2026, and four months later its top singles are trading well below launch-era hype. Market watchers are calling it a "time to buy" moment. We pulled today's prices ourselves to see what the data supports.
The short version: the current prices are clear, the exact size of the drop since July is not something we could verify, and whether it's a buy depends on what you pay.
The numbers
Prices checked Oct 28, 2026 from Scryfall (TCGplayer market prices) and MTGGoldfish:
| Card | TCGplayer market | Showcase / inverted |
|---|---|---|
| The Mind Stone | $45.99 (foil about $80.61) | n/a |
| The Ten Rings | $9.52 | showcase about $11.21 |
| Mjölnir, Hammer of Thor | $14.75 | showcase about $22.73, inverted about $26.23 |
For the Mind Stone, the spread between sources is worth knowing:
- TCGplayer mid: about $52.03 (MTGGoldfish) versus $45.99 (Scryfall's market figure). Different measures, same card.
- Card Kingdom retail: $59.99.
- Card Kingdom buylist: $36.00.
That buylist number is useful. It's roughly what a major vendor will pay you for a copy, which puts a floor under a quick exit: about 78% of the Scryfall market price.
On the size of the drop: mid-July prices of roughly $69 for the Mind Stone, $27 for the Ten Rings and $30 for Mjölnir are circulating among Magic buyers, which would mean declines of about 35%, 64% and 52%. We couldn't pull a price history to confirm those figures, so treat the percentages as unconfirmed. What we can say with data is where the cards sit today.
The Mind Stone also has a Textless Headliner treatment that Star City Games reports is limited to fewer than 150 copies and only comes from Collector Boosters. That is a different market from the regular card. Don't read a $46 price across to it.
Why this matters to resellers
Singles from a new Universes Beyond set often start high on launch hype, then settle as more packs get opened and more copies show up for sale. That is a general pattern, not a promise about any one card.
Two things make this set's timing interesting:
- Supply is still large. The set has been in print since June, and Wizards has not announced a reprint or a stop date for Marvel Super Heroes products. We didn't find anything either way, so we can't say when supply tightens.
- The next Marvel set is already on sale. Darkhold Destiny is set for April 9, 2027 per Wizards, and Secret Lair has its own Marvel Countdown Kit. More Marvel product means more places for buyer attention to go, but we have no data on whether it helps or hurts older cards. Anyone who tells you it will is guessing.
Fee math if you flip
eBay's Collectible Card Games rate is 13.25% of the total sale amount (up to $7,500) plus $0.30 per order for orders of $10 or less, or $0.40 for orders over $10, per eBay's selling fees page, checked Oct 28.
- Mind Stone at $45.99: fees about $6.49, leaving about $39.50 before shipping, supplies and what you paid.
- Ten Rings at $9.52: fees about $1.56, leaving about $7.96.
That's why cheap singles are hard to flip one at a time: a $10 card needs a very low buy price to clear shipping and fees, and the order fee jumps once the total passes $10. The Mind Stone has room to work with. The Ten Rings mostly doesn't.
Flip, hold or pass?
This is analysis, not a prediction.
- Flip: only if you can buy well under today's market. A card that has fallen isn't a flip just because it fell; you're buying at today's price and selling into the same market that pushed it down. With a $36 buylist and about $39.50 net on eBay, the margin is thin unless your buy is in the low $30s or lower.
- Hold: reasonable for the Mind Stone if you want exposure to the set's most-watched card and can wait months. You'd be betting that supply thins out. Nobody has confirmed that it will, and a price that dropped can keep dropping.
- Pass: the Ten Rings and similar $10 cards, unless you're collecting. The fees eat too much.
If you want to buy, spreading purchases over weeks beats guessing the bottom. Check TCGplayer or eBay sold listings (not asking prices) for the exact printing you're buying, since regular, showcase, inverted and foil versions trade far apart.
