Secret Lair Commander Deck: Hatsune Miku is a 100-card green-white Commander deck that Wizards of the Coast announced on August 4, 2026 and sold for $149.99 on the official Secret Lair site. The order window ran from August 10 at 9 a.m. PT to August 11 at 8:59 a.m. PT, and it has closed. This is a backlog write-up: the window is over, but the product is still moving on the secondary market, and a lot of buyers are waiting on copies. Everything below comes from Wizards' own pages unless we say otherwise.
What is in the deck
Per Wizards, the product is:
- 12 foil borderless cards with new Hatsune Miku art, including the commander Trostani, Selesnya's Voice shown as "Miku, Song of the People"
- 7 foil borderless Plains and 7 foil borderless Forests, also with new art
- 74 non-foil reprints
- 10 non-foil double-sided tokens
- 1 display commander (not legal in sanctioned play) and 1 deck box
The foil cards include Archangel of Tunes (Archangel of Thune), Grand Crescendo, Soul Warden, Cultivate, Finale of Devastation and Bountiful Promenade. Wizards' announcement says "14 new borderless art treatments" while its card list shows 12 new-art cards plus 14 basics, so outlets count the new art differently. We use Wizards' card list above.
Release, ship dates and supply
- Launch: August 10, exclusively on the Secret Lair site.
- Order window: 24 hours. Wizards said everything ordered in the window would be fulfilled, using a print-to-demand run.
- Shipping: A limited quantity ships right away (the store page says shipping began August 13). The remaining window orders are estimated to ship in May 2027 in North America and June 2027 in the EU and UK.
- Limits: The pages we read state no per-customer limit. US orders over $99 ship free.
Because the window was 24 hours and everything ordered was promised, there was no sellout in the usual sense. That matters for the resale picture, covered below.
Why it matters for resale
- Early copies are scarce. Only the first batch exists today. Buyers who got one in hand can sell now, while most buyers are still waiting on a 2027 ship date.
- A sealed copy hit $10,100 in the summer. Dexerto reported that a customer was mistakenly sent the unannounced deck in June and listed it on eBay, where it closed at $10,100 after 57 bids. That was a one-off for an unannounced, unique copy before the retail price existed, not a market price.
- Our tracked sold prices. On our releases page we log recent completed eBay sales at an average of about $253 across 10 sales (as of October 26, 2026), against the $149.99 retail. Ten sales is a small sample, so treat it as a rough read.
- Anime and Universes Beyond crossovers have a collector base. The deck is foil, borderless and themed around a single character, which is what collectors of Secret Lair products tend to chase.
Fee math
We use eBay's published 13.25% final value fee for the Collectible Card Games category plus $0.40 per order (the same assumption as in our eBay seller fee calculator). Before shipping and packaging:
- To break even on a $149.99 deck you need to sell at about $173.
- At the $253 average above, fees come to roughly $34, leaving about $69 over retail before shipping. That is a rough illustration and not a promise, and it moves with every sale.
The case against
- Supply is not capped like a normal sellout. Everyone who ordered in the window gets a deck, so by May and June 2027 a lot of new copies reach buyers at once. Prices can soften when the backlog ships.
- The aftermarket is thin. About ten tracked sales is not a deep market, and the $10,100 listing is not a guide.
- Sealed value rests on collectors, not play. Most of the deck is reprints and the display commander is not tournament legal. The value is in the foil Miku art.
- Shipping and protection cost money. A boxed deck needs care in transit, and a damaged box hurts a sealed sale.
Flip, hold or pass
This is analysis, not a promise.
- Flip: If you hold a copy in hand and can sell well above the roughly $173 break-even, taking the money before the 2027 shipments land is the safer path.
- Hold: If you are waiting on a May 2027 copy, you carry the risk of a flooded market. Hold only if you want the deck for yourself.
- Pass: If you do not already have an order, paying aftermarket prices to resell a product that is about to get more supply is hard to justify.
