Wizards of the Coast has announced the Secret Lair x Star Trek Set Phasers to Superdrop, a full set of Star Trek Secret Lair drops that goes on sale November 9 at 9 a.m. PT / 12 p.m. ET on the official Secret Lair site. That is four days before the main Magic: The Gathering | Star Trek set releases on November 13. GameSpot broke the reveal first, and Wizards' own announcement (Oct 27, 2026) confirms the dates and prices below. Where only GameSpot reports a detail, we say so.
What is in the superdrop
There are six drops, and five are revealed. The sixth is still to come. Each drop costs $29.99 non-foil and $39.99 foil, per Wizards.
| Drop | Cards | Theme |
|---|---|---|
| Beam Me Up | 4 | Blink effects: Eerie Interlude as "Beam Us Up", Momentary Blink, Essence Flux as "Materialize", Conjurer's Closet as "The Transporter". All reversible (in space on one side, back aboard the ship on the other) |
| KHAAAAAAAAN | 6 | Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Includes Wrath of the Skies as "Best Served Cold", Commandeer, Illusionist's Gambit as "Reliant's Betrayal", Buried Alive, Genesis Wave, Fracture |
| Lower Decks | 5 | Cartoon-style Lower Decks crew: Mariner, Boimler, Rutherford, Tendi and the U.S.S. Cerritos. Secret Lair debut for Silas Renn, Seeker Adept and Thrasios, Triton Hero |
| tlhIngan maH | 5 | Klingons. Demand Answers, Relentless Assault, Seething Song, War's Toll, Warstorm Surge. All reversible, one side English and one side Klingon |
| New Worlds | 10 | Five basic lands, two of each (art by Alayna Danner, per GameSpot) |
Reversibility, the Lower Decks theme details and the artist credit come from GameSpot; Wizards' page lists the cards.
Bonus card: Wizards says you get one foil Return of the Wildspeaker "Transporter Boondoggle" promo for every $199.99 spent, while supplies last. That wording suggests more than one is possible on a bigger order. Wizards does not say whether shipping or tax counts toward the total.
Why it matters to resellers and holders
- The bonus line is a close call. Five foil drops cost $199.95, which is $0.04 short of the $199.99 trigger on drop prices alone. Five non-foil drops are $149.95, six non-foil are $179.94, and six foil (if the sixth costs the same) are $239.94. Mixing finishes to cross the line is worth working out before checkout, and it is not clear whether shipping or tax counts.
- Reversible cards are a collector hook. Two drops (Beam Me Up and tlhIngan maH) are fully reversible, per GameSpot, the kind of cards completists want in every finish.
- Secret Lair debuts get attention. Silas Renn and Thrasios have not appeared in a Secret Lair before, per GameSpot.
- Pricing matches the recent tier. Wizards' two most recent superdrops, Masters of the Universe and Corn Maze, were also $29.99 non-foil and $39.99 foil per drop, so this is not a price jump.
- Timing is tight. The drop lands in the same week as Star Trek prereleases (Nov 6 to 12), so buyer attention and wallets will be split.
Fee math
eBay's published rate for Toys & Hobbies > Collectible Card Games is 13.25% of the sale up to $7,500, plus $0.40 per order over $10 (we checked the page today). To simply get your money back on one drop, before shipping and packaging:
- A $29.99 non-foil drop needs to sell for about $35.
- A $39.99 foil drop needs to sell for about $46.60.
Anything under those numbers is a loss. We have no sold data, because nothing has launched.
Queue, shipping and terms
Per Wizards:
- Pre-queue opens at 8 a.m. PT, an hour before the 9 a.m. PT sale. To enter, add any product to your cart and go to checkout.
- Pre-queue customers get random spots when the sale begins. Anyone who reaches checkout after 9 a.m. PT is queued in the order they arrive.
- Adding to cart does not reserve anything. You have to complete checkout to secure items.
- Orders over $99 ship free (three foil drops clear it at $119.97; three non-foil do not, at $89.97).
Wizards' page does not state a per-customer limit, a cancellation policy or a return policy, and we have not verified them. Do not call this low-risk: demand and sell-through are unknown.
Flip, hold or pass
This is analysis, not a promise.
- Flip: Only after you see sold listings for similar Star Trek drops that clear the break-even prices above. Before launch there is nothing to point to.
- Hold: A drop you actually want, in the finish you want, if you are happy to wait. Secret Lair prices can take weeks to settle after a launch.
- Pass: Chasing the bonus card by buying drops you would not otherwise want. The bonus is a promo card, and its value is unproven.
