Pokémon Mewtwo Promo Card: eBay Price After 2 Weeks

· 4 min read · By the Friends & Family team

Since October 2, spending $15 on Pokémon cards at certain retailers gets you a free Mewtwo promo card. Sealed copies are already selling on eBay for about $15 to $20 each, so is the freebie worth building a purchase around?

Since October 2, 2026, a Pokémon TCG purchase of $15 or more at certain retailers comes with a free Mewtwo promo card for the 30th Celebration. Two weeks in, copies are trading on eBay, and most sealed ones are going for about $15 to $20.

That makes it a bonus on a purchase you were already making. It isn't a product to chase on its own. Here is what the offer is, what the card is selling for, and the fee math.

What the offer is

Pokémon's own announcement, dated September 10, says that starting October 2, 2026, you spend $15 or more on Pokémon TCG products at participating retailers and get the Mewtwo promo as a gift with purchase. Per the official post:

  • US retailers listed: GameStop, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble and Macy's. Other reports, citing a press release, also list Hot Topic, BoxLunch and Five Below, but I couldn't open that release, so check with the store.
  • Canada and Oceania: EB Games, plus EB Games Australia, JB Hi-Fi, Toymate and Mr Toys.
  • The card: a Mewtwo carrying the Pokémon 30 and "What's Your Favorite?" logos. The card shown on Pokémon's page is numbered 063/128. A separate card with a QR code for the Pokémon Night Out event comes with it.
  • Supplies: the offer is while supplies last. Retailers decide how long their stock holds out, so there's no guaranteed end date.

This is separate from the Mewtwo promo some Target stores handed out at an event on September 27, and from the foil Mew or Mewtwo promo inside the Mew & Mewtwo Figure Collection due November 6.

What it's selling for on eBay

I checked eBay's sold listings (sold and completed, sorted by newest) on October 18, 2026. These are sealed copies of the 063/128 What's Your Favorite? promo, before tax:

  • Most sales landed between about $14.99 and $22.
  • Shipping runs from roughly $1 to $7, depending on whether the seller uses a plain envelope or a tracked parcel. Check the full price.
  • Auctions went lower: I saw a few at $12 to $17.50.
  • A handful of listings showed far higher prices, around $94 to $160, but I couldn't confirm they were single cards. I left them out.

I saw sales on every day from October 11 through October 18, so there's steady demand, but it's a $15 to $20 card.

The fee math

eBay's final value fee for Collectible Card Games is 13.25% of the total sale amount (item plus shipping) up to $7,500, plus a per-order fee (eBay's fee page). The earlier mini tin article used $0.40 per order over $10, so I've used that here.

Sold price + shipping eBay fees Left after fees, before postage
$14.99 + $1.36 about $2.57 about $13.78
$17.99 + $1.36 about $2.96 about $16.39
$19.99 + $1.36 about $3.22 about $18.13

Postage supplies and your own shipping cost reduce that further when the buyer pays low shipping. On a $15 card, a few dollars is a big share of the margin.

Do returns matter?

You only get the card when you buy something, so the real risk is the qualifying purchase, not the promo. Pokémon's announcement doesn't say what happens to the gift if you return the product, and I didn't verify each retailer's policy. If you plan to return anything, check how that store treats the gift with purchase first. Don't buy sealed product just to farm the promo.

Flip, hold or pass?

This is analysis, not a promise.

  • Flip: Reasonable if you're already buying at least $15 of Pokémon product at a participating store. A free card that nets about $13 to $18 after fees is a small bonus. It doesn't justify buying product you don't want.
  • Hold: Possible if you collect Mewtwo or want a sealed copy as an anniversary item. Promo cards can drift either way, and I have no data on where this one goes. With stock going out to many stores, supply isn't tiny.
  • Pass: Skip it if you'd have to buy extra product, or pay shipping and fees, for a card that sells for under $20.

Collectors who want it can often get it free with something they'd buy anyway, which caps what buyers will pay.

Where this fits

The 30th Celebration has had real money in sealed product, such as the booster bundle and mini tin prices, and our look at 30th Celebration card prices covers the singles. A promo like this is a footnote next to those.
