The Mega Moonlit Tin came out in June, and sealed copies are still selling every day. Between October 20 and October 23, I saw sealed singles on eBay's sold listings range from about $21.50 to $41, with most landing in the mid-$20s to mid-$30s.
That is a small-money product, so the fee math matters more than the headline price. Here is what the tin is, what it sold for, and where the margin goes.
What's in the Mega Moonlit Tin
According to Pokemon.com's product page, each tin has:
- 1 foil promo card, either Mega Gengar ex or Mega Clefable ex
- 4 Pokémon TCG booster packs
- 1 code card for Pokémon TCG Live
The listed release date is June 5, 2026. Pokemon.com doesn't list a price, and the retailer prices I found online disagree (some are third-party or import markups), so I'm not going to quote a retail price. Check the price on the store page in front of you.
What it sold for on eBay
I searched eBay's sold listings for "pokemon mega moonlit tin sealed" and read the results from October 20 to 23, 2026. This is a snapshot, not an average:
| Sold | Item | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Oct 20 | Mega Clefable ex tin | $21.50 |
| Oct 22 | Mega Clefable ex tin | $22.95 |
| Oct 21 | Mega Gengar ex tin | $23.95 |
| Oct 21 | Mega Clefable ex tin | $27.00 |
| Oct 20 | Moonlit tin (single) | $29.00 |
| Oct 23 | Mega Gengar ex tin, listing included a free extra tin | $35.99 |
| Oct 22 | Mega Gengar ex tin | $40.99 |
Pairs and cases also sold: a 2-tin set of Gengar and Clefable for $55 to $62.95 (so about $27 to $31 each), and a 6-tin case for $123.01 on October 21 (about $20.50 per tin). The lowest single sales were Clefable, and the highest were Gengar, but with this few sales I wouldn't call that a trend.
Ascended Heroes tins for comparison
The Mega Evolution—Ascended Heroes Tin is another one still moving. Per Pokemon.com, you choose Mega Meganium ex, Mega Emboar ex or Mega Feraligatr ex, and each tin has 1 foil promo and 4 Ascended Heroes booster packs. It released August 28, 2026.
Sealed singles I saw sell on October 21 and 22 were $32, $32.99 and $34. Sets of three went for about $120 to $130, which is roughly $40 to $43 each. Multi-tin lots often price higher per tin than singles here, so don't assume a bundle is the cheaper way in.
The Mega Forces Tin, which released the same day (August 28), is also around, but I didn't pull enough recent sales to include it.
Fee math
eBay's Collectible Card Games rate is 13.25% of the total sale amount (up to $7,500), plus $0.40 per order on orders over $10, per eBay's selling fees page. The percentage applies to the total the buyer pays, including shipping, so I'm using item price alone here as a simple floor:
| Sale price | eBay fees | You keep (before shipping and cost) |
|---|---|---|
| $22 | about $3.32 | about $18.68 |
| $27 | about $3.98 | about $23.02 |
| $34 | about $4.91 | about $29.09 |
Then subtract packaging and postage and whatever you paid. On a $22 tin, a few dollars of shipping can wipe out most of what's left. This is why tins are a volume game with thin edges, not a one-box windfall.
The return catch
If you buy at a store, check the return policy first. Target's returns page says trading cards and trading card accessories, with Pokémon cards as the example, can't be returned (effective January 30, 2023). The page doesn't spell out how sealed tins are handled, so if you plan to buy there, confirm in the store or by contacting Target. I didn't verify every other retailer's policy, and nobody should call this low risk.
Flip, hold or pass
Flip: only near the low end of retail. At the $21 to $23 sales, fees and shipping leave very little. Selling at $30 or above is where it starts to pay, and that depends on what you paid, which I can't tell you for your store.
Hold: weak case. These are mass-printed tins with four packs. The sales I saw suggest steady demand, but the spread from $21.50 to $41 says price is set by whoever lists, not by scarcity. That is analysis, not a prediction.
Pass on set lots priced far above single sales. If a seller wants much more than the single-tin sales above, the sold listings don't back it up.
