Riftbound booster boxes may be at your local Best Buy. On October 4, AndyCollectz posted that Origins and Vendetta booster boxes may be in stock at select Best Buy stores, both at $119.99, and shared the SKUs to ask for in store. The post got about 83,000 views in a day.
Short version: Origins at $119.99 is a real flip. Vendetta at $119.99 is about break-even after fees.
What's on the shelf
Riftbound is the League of Legends trading card game from Riot Games, published in English by UVS Games. Both boxes are 24 packs with 14 cards in each pack.
| Box | Set | Best Buy price | Best Buy SKU |
|---|---|---|---|
| Origins | Set 1 (Oct 31, 2025) | $119.99 | 6680272 |
| Vendetta | Set 4 (Jul 31, 2026) | $119.99 | 6680278 |
We checked Best Buy's Origins page (SKU 6680272) on October 5. It showed $119.99, "Sold by Best Buy," model RB-01BD01-EN. The Vendetta SKU from the post sent us to a different Vendetta listing priced at $206.99. That's well over the $119.99 price, so ask for SKU 6680278 in store. Don't buy the marked-up online listing.
The post says "may be available at select Best Buy," and AndyCollectz told people to go in and give staff the SKU. This is a store-by-store hunt, not a sitewide restock. Call ahead or check store pickup before you drive.
Why Origins boxes sell for so much
Origins was the launch set. Its English release had not enough supply for the demand and collation problems (packs with the wrong mix of rarities). Riot's own buying guide warned that preorders would sell out quickly and limited Riot Merch Store buyers to 2 booster boxes each.
The next sets were hard to get too. When Spiritforged launched in February, it turned into a raffle after orders were cancelled.
The risk is a reprint. In March, the Riftbound Report account on X said Origins boxes were still being printed and would ship to stores in May. Riot hasn't promised Origins will stay scarce, and every new wave of boxes can push the price down.
What they're selling for on eBay
We checked eBay sold listings on October 5 for single, sealed English boxes. We left out cases, lots and Chinese "slim" boxes.
- Origins, October 2–4: about 18 sales. Most were between $225 and $265. A few went lower ($138.50 and $170), and a few went higher ($290 and $430).
- Vendetta, September 27 – October 4: about 24 sales. Most were between $150 and $170. The range was $125 to $177.
Online, Miniature Market lists Vendetta for $159.99. So Best Buy's $119.99 is a good price if you want to open the box. It's not a big discount for flipping.
The fee math
eBay's final value fee for Collectible Card Games is 13.25% of the total sale, plus $0.40 per order. Figure $12 to $15 to ship a 24-pack box with tracking. With about 7.5% sales tax, a $119.99 box costs about $129.
- Origins sold for $235, free shipping: about $31.54 in fees leaves $203.46. After the label you net about $188 to $191. That's about $59 to $62 of profit per box.
- Vendetta sold for $160, free shipping: about $21.60 in fees leaves $138.40. After the label you net about $123 to $126. That's about $3 to $6 less than you paid.
eBay also counts shipping and tax in the fee total, so real fees come out a little higher than this.
Flip, hold or pass
Flip: Origins at $119.99. About $60 a box after fees is a solid margin for an in-store pickup. Sell soon. A reprint is the main thing that could pull the price down.
Hold or open: Vendetta at $119.99. You'll lose a few dollars flipping it today. If you play, or want to hold sealed product, $119.99 is below most online prices. Don't count on a quick profit.
Pass: The $206.99 Vendetta listing, and any Origins box over about $170. Above that, fees and shipping eat most of the gap.
Radiance, Riftbound's fifth set, comes out October 23, with Pre-Rift events from October 16 to 22. Riot says Radiance has its rarest Ultimate Rare yet, in about 0.025% of packs. Expect a lot of attention (and buyers) to move to the new set this month.
This is analysis, not a promise. Riftbound prices can move fast around a new set.
