On September 29, the official Secret Lair account posted four teaser images and one line: the Corn Maze Superdrop arrives on October 12. No cards, no prices and no drop names yet. But the legal line printed along the bottom of every image lists three outside rights holders, and that's what has Magic collectors talking.
Here's what Wizards has actually confirmed, what's only implied, and what it means if you plan to buy, flip or hold.
What Secret Lair announced
The post went up at 12:00 PM ET on September 29 and had about 319,000 views and 878 likes when we read it the same day. What's official:
- Name: the Corn Maze Superdrop
- Date: October 12, 2026
- Theme: a spooky corn maze at night, with the tagline "The Ears Have Eyes" and "Swipe to stalk"
The Secret Lair store lists the Corn Maze Superdrop as "Coming Soon" with a sign-up to get notified. As of September 30, Wizards hasn't posted a launch time, drop list, prices or bundle options.
The fine print: Marvel, KPop Demon Hunters and Labyrinth
The bottom of each teaser image carries these notices:
- © 2026 MARVEL
- KPop Demon Hunters™/© Netflix. Used with permission.
- TM & © The Jim Henson Company/Labyrinth Enterprises
- TM & © 2026 Wizards of the Coast LLC
Collectors spotted it fast. Community creator Joel Are Magic pointed out the three names in a post that picked up more than 1,300 likes, and Star City Games, GameRant and TheGamer all covered the teaser the same day.
Be precise about what this proves. Wizards printed those rights holders on its own promo art, so a tie-in with each one is very likely. But Wizards hasn't officially announced a Marvel, KPop Demon Hunters or Labyrinth drop, and nothing says how many drops each one gets. GameRant, for example, left open whether the Jim Henson line means Labyrinth or the Muppets.
The art itself leans Labyrinth. Star City Games points to a clock with 13 hours (the film's 13-hour deadline) and a hand holding crystal balls (Jareth, the Goblin King). It also spotted a UFO abducting a cow and a hat-wearing bird that it thinks looks like a KPop Demon Hunters character.
Why KPop Demon Hunters is the one to watch
This isn't the first hint. On Hasbro's third-quarter 2025 earnings call, CEO Chris Cocks said KPop Demon Hunters would get a Secret Lair in 2026. Star City Games quoted him: "If we can figure out how to get people jazzed up about SpongeBob SquarePants collectible cards, I'm pretty sure we can do it with one of the biggest movies of all time." With 2026 almost over, this Superdrop is the obvious fit, though Wizards still hasn't said so.
The fan base outside Magic is real, and it's already buying. We checked eBay sold listings on September 30. There were no sold results for a KPop Demon Hunters Secret Lair, as you'd expect for a product that doesn't exist yet. But other KPop Demon Hunters collectibles are moving. In the past week we saw a new Mattel Creations HUNTR/X "What It Sounds Like" 3-pack sell for $184.95, and a Costco Kayou Energy collector box sell for $74.99. That doesn't predict what a Magic drop will do. It does show that people outside the Magic audience are paying up for this IP.
Marvel is the familiar one. Star City Games notes it follows several Standard-legal sets and earlier Marvel Secret Lairs, and August's Perfectly Normal Superdrop alone had four Marvel drops. Labyrinth would be new to Magic.
What it will probably cost
Prices aren't out yet, so treat this as a baseline, not a quote. Wizards' announcement for the A Perfectly Normal Superdrop (August 31, 2026) listed:
- $29.99 per non-foil drop and $39.99 per foil drop
- Bundles from $224.99 (non-foil) to $519.99 (everything)
- Free shipping on orders over $99 (terms apply)
- A 9:00 AM PT launch, with a pre-queue opening an hour earlier
The Masters of the Universe Superdrop on September 14 used the same $29.99 / $39.99 single-drop pricing, per ManaValue. Expect Corn Maze to be close, but wait for the official announcement.
Secret Lair's cancel, return and shipping rules
Read these before you buy multiples. From Secret Lair's support pages:
- Preorders can be canceled until they're charged. Use the "Cancel pre-order" button on the Manage Order page. Orders can't be partly canceled, and a canceled order can't be reinstated.
- Once you're charged, it's final. "For our US store, all purchases are final at the time of sale." Watch out: large orders may be charged right at checkout, which removes the self-service cancel option.
- No quantity changes. After a preorder is placed, you can't add or remove items.
- Limits: usually 2 of each product, and bundles have their own limit on top of that.
- Shipping: Secret Lair's preorder page says the shipping stage "can take up to 30 days," and backordered items get an estimated window in the confirmation email.
- Returns: there's no general return option for US orders. Defective products can be replaced through the support portal. EU and UK buyers have a 14-day right to withdraw.
In other words, your only exit is canceling before you're charged. After that, you own it. Don't call any Secret Lair low-risk.
Flip, hold or pass?
This is our analysis, not a promise. Nothing has been revealed yet, so the honest answer is: decide drop by drop once the cards are out.
Flip: Presale listings for this Superdrop will probably show up on eBay the minute it goes live. Price off completed sales, not asking prices. Do the fee math first: eBay's Collectible Card Games fee is 13.25% of the total sale (up to $7,500) plus $0.40 per order over $10. To get back just a $39.99 foil drop's price, you'd need to sell for about $46.56, before tax, your shipping and supplies.
Hold: Secret Lair's value tends to come from the cards inside, not the box. ManaValue's check on the Masters of the Universe Superdrop found most drops near or a bit above retail on singles, and one foil card worth more than the whole drop. A crossover with a fan base outside Magic can help sealed demand, but that's a bet, not a given.
Pass: Skip drops whose card list is mostly cheap reprints, unless you want them for your own collection. And skip drops that are only exciting because of the theme, unless you know the audience will pay.
Vinch's take
Vinch, who covers Magic for us, flagged the October 12 date and the three names to our Magic members right after the teaser. He'll share more once the drops are revealed. His general approach, which he's shared before: he buys most Secret Lairs and puts away the ones that aren't great right away, rather than dumping them. That's his opinion, not a recommendation for any specific drop.
