LEGO Godzilla Set Price & Release Date: What's Confirmed

· 3 min read · By the Friends & Family team

LEGO approved a fan-built MonsterVerse Godzilla for a real set, and first-look images are circulating. LEGO hasn't announced a price or date, so here is what's confirmed, what's only reported, and how we'd think about a flip.

A LEGO Godzilla is coming, but the details are not official yet. LEGO approved a fan-designed MonsterVerse Godzilla through its LEGO Ideas program in 2025. First-look images and specs have since appeared online, including a reported 5,360 pieces, a reported price of about $450 and a reported November 27, 2026 release. LEGO has not confirmed any of those numbers, and we could not find a product page on lego.com as of October 31, 2026.

What is officially confirmed

  • Approval: In June 2025, LEGO announced that a fan-submitted Godzilla based on Legendary's MonsterVerse designs (from Godzilla vs. Kong and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire) was approved for consideration as an official LEGO Ideas set (Godzilla.com, June 17, 2025).
  • The fan designer: The model was built by Matthew Esposito. It was first submitted in 2023, resubmitted in 2024 after a rules change allowed larger sets, and reached the 10,000 supporters needed for review.
  • LEGO's reaction: In an approval video, LEGO Ideas staff said they "cannot wait to translate it into brick form."
  • What wasn't announced then: No product announcement and no release date, and any final design is subject to change.

How much is the LEGO Godzilla set?

There is no official price. LEGO has not listed the set, so there is no retail price to quote from lego.com or any retailer.

What's circulating is a reported price of about $450 USD, along with a reported piece count of about 5,360 and a reported release date of November 27, 2026, the day after Thanksgiving. We treat all three as unconfirmed. Leaked specs have been wrong before, and LEGO sometimes changes dates and prices before launch. If LEGO or a retailer lists the set, we'll update this page with the real retail price.

Is there a release date?

Not an official one. The date you may see (November 27, 2026) is a reported leak. The first-look images that are circulating also mention a gift-with-purchase Godzilla footprint set, which would be a separate small item. LEGO has not confirmed it, so don't plan a purchase around it.

LEGO Godzilla resale value and eBay

The set isn't on sale, so nothing has sold on eBay and any resale number would be made up. We won't invent one.

Here is how we'd think about it once it launches:

Why it could hold value. Godzilla has a huge, global fan base that spans collectors, movie fans and adult LEGO builders, and a large licensed set with a character this iconic tends to draw buyers who don't normally buy LEGO. Why to stay careful. LEGO Ideas sets are normally regular catalog releases, not tiny limited runs. A $450-class set ties up a lot of cash, and if LEGO keeps it in stock through the holidays, the money is usually made later, after the set retires and supply dries up. Our guide to investing in LEGO sets covers how to think about that wait.

Our take: wait and see. Don't pay a premium for a preorder spot on rumors. See what LEGO announces, check the retailer's cancel and return rules, and watch stock on day one.

What we'll look for next

  • An official lego.com product page with a set number, price and date.
  • Whether the set is a regular release, a VIP early-access item, or limited per household.
  • Retailer rules on cancellations and returns once it can be ordered.
  • eBay sold prices after launch, split by sealed box and any gift-with-purchase item.

For a similar situation, see our post on the LEGO Daft Punk Concert Ideas set, which also had no official price when it was announced.
