LEGO Marvel The Marvel Skyline (67006) was announced on October 8, 2026, and pre-orders are open at the LEGO Store and Amazon. Short version: pass on a day-one flip, because it's wide open and nothing has sold out. It's worth a look as a long hold, but only if you can get it below $99.99.
What LEGO announced
The Brick Fan's post on the reveal pulled about 1,600 likes and 88,000 views on X on October 8. Here's what's confirmed:
- Price: $99.99 (£89.99, €99.99). One outlet noted some early listings showed $109.99.
- Pieces: 1,261
- Ages: 18+
- Release date: January 1, 2027, per the LEGO press release quoted by Brickset. The Brick Fan only says "this January."
- Size: about 15.5 inches wide and 8 inches tall, per Comic Basics
- Minifigure: one Galactus, plus Spider-Man and the Human Torch as tiny nanofigures
- Buildings: the Daily Bugle, Avengers Tower, Baxter Building, X-Mansion, Fisk Tower, Oscorp, Sanctum Sanctorum and more, plus the Quinjet, X-Jet and Thanos Copter
- Extras: Build Together mode in the LEGO Builder app
- Where to buy: LEGO.com, LEGO Stores and Amazon pre-orders. Nothing we found says it's exclusive to LEGO.
Why it could be a good hold
Skylines have a track record. LEGO's Architecture Skyline sets are the closest comparison, since 67006 is clearly built in the same style. The Tokyo skyline (21051) retired in late 2022 and BrickEconomy values a sealed copy at about $100, up 66% from its $59.99 retail price. Other trackers put it lower, around $64 to $90, so the data isn't unanimous.
But not every skyline climbs. The New York City skyline (21028) retired in December 2025, and trackers currently put a sealed copy between roughly $38 and $70, depending on the source. That's a reminder that a skyline isn't an automatic winner.
The Galactus minifigure helps. A character you can't get anywhere else is the kind of detail that supports collector demand after a set retires. LEGO's other 18+ Marvel display sets have a mixed history, though, so we'd treat it as a bonus and not a guarantee.
Flip, hold or pass? Our take
Day-one flip: pass. Pre-orders are live at retail, and we found no sellout. Nobody pays over retail for something they can still pre-order at retail.
Long-term hold: only at a discount. Here's the math at full price:
- Buy at $99.99 plus about 7% tax: $106.99
- Sell at $166, a Tokyo-style 66% over retail: eBay's 13.6% fee plus $0.40 takes about $23, leaving $143
- Profit: about $36, after waiting years for the set to retire and climb
If it only ends up at $130, you net about $112 and make roughly $5. That's not worth the shelf space. Buy one if you want to build it. Buy quantity only when retailers drop it 20% or more, which licensed sets often get months after launch.
What to watch before January 1
- Sellouts. If LEGO.com or Amazon run out before launch, the flip math changes quickly.
- A gift with purchase. A free promo set can cut your real cost. Read our LEGO GWP and retirement breakdown.
- Price at Amazon, Target and Walmart. The best long-hold entries usually come a few months after launch.
- Retirement news. Most of the upside comes after retirement. Keep the box sealed and stored flat.

Our Lego team tracks launches like this every day: gift-with-purchase deals, retiring sets and the point where a set goes from "skip" to "buy." If the Marvel Skyline sells out, gets a GWP or drops in price, our members hear about it first.
