Lowkey Flips Today: Draculaura Doll & Pink RX-7 (Oct 13)

· 4 min read · By the Friends & Family team

Two Mattel Creations drops land today at 9 AM PT: a Monster High Draculaura doll our team estimates at $115 to $130+ on a $65 retail price, and a pink Hot Wheels RLC car they're less excited about.

Our team flagged two upcoming Mattel Creations drops in the lowkey flips channel. One is the Monster High Draculaura Halloween Edition doll, which they like a lot, with an unusual catch in how it's being released. The other is a pink Hot Wheels RLC Mazda RX-7 R1, which they're lukewarm on. Both open today, October 13, at 9:00 AM PT (noon ET).

Monster High Draculaura Halloween Edition Doll

  • Retail: $65 on Mattel Creations
  • Team's estimated resale: $115 to $130+, with "more in the long term." That's our team's read of the market, not a promise.
  • When: Fang Club members get first access from October 13 at 9:00 AM PT through October 14 at 8:59 AM PT, per Mattel's product page.
  • Limit: 2 per person, per the team's post and the product page tags.
  • Membership: Fang Club membership is required for the early access window.

The catch. Mattel's page says all current inventory is exclusive to Fang Club members during the October 13 drop. If those dolls sell out, the October 14 public sale becomes a pre-order for the next production run, with orders expected to ship in Fall 2027. So Fang Club orders ship now, and public buyers could be waiting about a year.

Our team's read: this is a strong doll. It's the line's most popular character, at a solid price, with a design they rate highly. They expect a surge of FOMO-driven sales once it sells out, a pattern they say they often see on popular Monster High releases. How well it does depends on how much stock exists and how much goes to resellers. They see the short term as hopefully still profitable, and some members may want to stash a few for the longer term. Their tip: if you plan to hold for over a year, the public pre-order lets you pay now and not store the doll in the meantime.

Returns. Mattel's return policy says items bought directly on MattelCreations.com can be returned within 30 days of receipt, with proof of purchase, for a refund or an exchange. Items need to be in the condition received and in the complete original packaging, shipping and processing fees aren't refunded, and orders shipped internationally aren't eligible. The policy page doesn't say whether a submitted order can be cancelled, and it doesn't describe pre-order rules, so don't assume either. If you're buying a Fall 2027 pre-order, remember you'd be tied up for a long stretch before the return window even starts.

Our take: worth a look for members who already have Fang Club access. Treat the pre-order as a hold, not a quick flip.

Hot Wheels RLC Exclusive 1993 Mazda RX-7 R1 (Pink)

  • Retail: $30 on Mattel Creations
  • Team's estimated resale: $45+
  • When: today at 9:00 AM PT
  • Limit: 2 per person
  • Membership: Red Line Club (RLC) membership needed, per the team's post
  • Shipping: the team says it ships now

This is the pink Spectraflame Party Car for the 40th Annual Hot Wheels Collectors Convention, with a pearl white chassis and Real Riders wheels, according to Mattel's page. Our team's caution: the last time this car appeared it didn't do great, and the past few Pink Convention cars have been somewhat underwhelming. They said they aren't expecting too much and that it's only worth a try if you want to roll the dice.

Returns. The same Mattel Creations return policy applies: 30 days from receipt, original packaging, refund or exchange, and shipping isn't refunded.

We didn't pull eBay results ourselves for this post, so we can't say whether the team's $45+ figure matches active asks or sold prices. Check recent sold listings before you buy. If Hot Wheels is your lane, see our guide on whether reselling Hot Wheels is worth it, our earlier RLC write-up, and the Hot Wheels group page.

Our take: pass unless you're a collector. A $15 spread before fees leaves very little room.

How our members hear about these

The team posts these in the channel as they come up: the link, retail, what they think it resells for, and the honest caveats, like the lukewarm read on the pink RX-7 above. Members watching the channel get the heads-up before a drop.
