Two things came through our lowkey flips channel in the last day: a pre-order on a special-edition Xbox controller that our team says is still trading well above retail, and the follow-up on yesterday's Barbie Calavera Catrina drop, which sold out quickly.
Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition
Our team posted the Amazon link for the Xbox Wireless Controller | X25 Special Edition (the translucent green 25th-anniversary model) and added that it's "still about $120s" on eBay.
Here's what we confirmed on the Amazon listing when we checked it this morning:
- Price: $79.00 in the buy box, sold and shipped by Amazon.com
- Release date: October 20, 2026. It's a pre-order right now.
- Team's estimate: about $120s on eBay, per our team. That's the team's read of the market, not a promise.
Amazon's own policy pages say you can cancel physical items sold and shipped by Amazon if they haven't entered the shipping process, through Your Orders. They also say most items can be returned for a refund or replacement within 30 days of delivery if they're in original or unused condition, and that the product page shows each item's return eligibility. The listing itself shows "FREE 30-day refund/replacement" for this controller. Since it's a pre-order, there's time between ordering and shipping to change your mind.
We didn't load eBay ourselves for this post, so we can't tell you whether those $120s figures are active asks or sold prices. Check recent sold listings yourself before deciding, and factor in selling fees (our reseller fees breakdown shows what comes out of a sale).
Our take: worth a look. The spread between $79 and the team's $120s number is decent on paper, but special-edition controllers can cool off once more stock ships, so a pre-order that you can cancel before it ships is the safer way to try it. Keep it to a quantity you'd be fine returning.
Barbie Signature Dia De Muertos Calavera Catrina Doll: how it went
This was yesterday's headline drop. We covered the plan in yesterday's lowkey flips post. Here's what we can add from Mattel's page and our team's channel:
- Price: $100 on Mattel Creations
- Limit: 2 per customer, per the team's post and the product page tags
- Access: Mattel's page says it was open to Barbie Club 59 members only from October 9 at 9:00 AM PT through October 10 at 8:59 AM PT, while supplies last
- Status today: the product page now shows it as sold out
Our team shared keywords for members who didn't want to wait for the link, noted the queue was slow to appear, and said order emails are usually delayed, so there was no need to panic if one hadn't arrived. They also said the dolls appear to be shipping already.
Mattel's return policy says items bought directly on MattelCreations.com can be returned within 30 days of receipt for a refund (minus shipping and processing) or an exchange while supplies last, with proof of purchase. International orders aren't eligible. We didn't confirm a cancellation rule for submitted orders, so don't plan on canceling. Plan on returning if you need an exit.
If you got one, our team's earlier estimate was $200+ on a $100 retail price, and they said previous years' releases were their comparison. Check sold listings before listing yours. How our members hear about these
The team posts these in the channel as they come up: the link, retail, what they think it resells for, and the caveats. Members who watch the channel get the heads-up when it matters. If you want that kind of early notice, see our lowkey flips Discord page, and browse past write-ups in the lowkey flips category.
