Two items came up in our lowkey flips channel over the last day. One is a collector box our team is lukewarm on, and the other is a market update on a controller many members already ordered. Neither is a slam dunk, and our team said so.
God of War Laufey Collector Box
- Retail: $149.99 at PlayStation Direct, per the product page
- Release date: February 16, 2027, per the page
- What's in it: a light-up resin statue of Faye, a 51-card Oracle Deck and a mini artbook. The game itself is sold separately.
- Limit: the page says 1 per order and notes that household limits may apply
- Status when we checked: the page showed "Coming Soon" and "Currently Unavailable" with a "Sign In to Buy" button, so check it yourself for live availability
What the team said. Staff first spotted the listing loading with no game attached and guessed it would be priced higher than they'd want. When it loaded at $150, they said they still didn't love it and didn't really think it would do well. Later, when pre-orders appeared on the front end of Amazon, the team noted that listing sold out quickly. Their stance on the PlayStation Direct link: low expectations, but you can order it to be safe if you want to see what happens.
That's the team's opinion, not a forecast. We didn't verify any resale prices for this box, so we have no sold-listing numbers to show you. With a release date in February 2027, any flip is months away, and the price already sits at $150 before resale fees.
Returns. The PlayStation Direct page says "Free 30-day returns" and links to its cancellation, returns and refunds policy. We couldn't open that policy page, so we can't tell you how pre-order cancellations work. Read it before you order.
Our take: pass unless you want it for yourself. If you do order, treat it as a hold until you've read the return terms.
Xbox 25th Anniversary Controller: Market Update
Our team posted a market update on the Xbox 25th Anniversary controller. Their read:
- After a strong start, sales have slowed a lot.
- The controllers are sitting in stock at most places.
- They think the controller will age well, but there isn't much room for a quick flip right now.
- The holidays could push prices up, so holding is a choice for members who can store them.
- If you can't put them away, the team's advice is to consider canceling before they start shipping for release day next week.
We didn't open eBay results ourselves for this post, so we can't confirm current sold prices. The team's view is that there's "something there, just not much right now." Cancellation rules vary by retailer, so check the policy of wherever you ordered.
Our take: hold only if you have the space and the patience. Otherwise, follow the team's advice and reconsider before shipping.
How our members hear about these
Posts like these go up in the channel as they happen, with the link, the team's honest read and the caveats, including when the answer is "pass." If you want that kind of early notice, see our lowkey flips Discord page, browse past write-ups in the lowkey flips category, or catch up on our last post.
