What's worth a look today? The Hot Wheels RLC Exclusive RWB Porsche 930 in orange. It launches this morning on Mattel Creations, and our team flagged it in the private lowkey flips channel the evening before. Everything below is our team's read plus what we confirmed on Mattel's own pages.
Hot Wheels RLC Exclusive RWB Porsche 930 (orange)
From Mattel Creations' product page, read this morning:
- When: Today, October 20, at 9 AM Pacific (noon Eastern). The page shows it as "Coming Soon" and pre-order.
- Price: $38.00.
- Limit: 2 per customer. Mattel says purchase limits can change at its discretion.
- Membership: Red Line Club members only. The page lists the 1-year digital membership at $9.99, and you have to accept the membership agreement before adding the car to your cart.
- The car: 1:64 scale, Spectraflame bright orange ZAMAC body, opening engine cover and doors, black interior with a white roll bar, Real Riders wheels and a full metal matte-black chassis. It comes in an acrylic case inside a slipcover.
- Shipping: The page doesn't list a ship date. Our team's post said it ships on or before November 20, so plan on your money being tied up for about a month.
What our team thinks
Slumpd, who covers Lowkey Flips for us, put retail at $38 and his estimated resale at $90 or more. His reasoning:
- A top casting. He called the RWB Porsche one of the castings RLC does that has a lot of demand, and this is another drop in that line.
- A "full send." That was his wording for how confident the team is in this one.
That $90+ figure is our team's estimate, not a promise. We didn't pull our own sold-listing data for this post and couldn't check eBay results ourselves today, so look at recent sold listings, not active asking prices, before you decide what to list one for.
Team take: Flip. If it goes the way the team expects, the margin on a $38 car is the reason it's on this list.
Can you return or cancel it?
You can return it, but you can't cancel it. Here's what Mattel's pages say:
- Cancellation: Mattel's FAQ says: "Once an order is submitted, it cannot be changed or canceled."
- Returns: Mattel Creations' return policy allows returns within 30 days of receipt, with the item in the condition received and in its complete original packaging. Refunds go to the original payment method for the item price plus sales tax, and shipping and processing fees are not refunded.
- Exceptions: Some items are marked refund-only on the product page, and orders shipped to international addresses aren't eligible. This car's page doesn't show a refund-only note, so the standard policy appears to apply.
That's why our team is comfortable here: if the market doesn't cooperate, you can send it back and lose the fees instead of the full $38. Keep it sealed and in its packaging until you've decided, and remember the 30 days only start once it arrives.
Before you list anything, read Mattel's terms for RLC members. Our earlier RLC Nissan Skyline R32 breakdown walks through them, and is reselling Hot Wheels worth it covers the basics.
Update: Analogue's Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ sold out
Yesterday's pre-orders for the Analogue Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ sold out. Our team reported the Mega Sg+ gone first, then the Super Nt versions one at a time over the afternoon, and by mid-afternoon Eastern everything on the store was gone. If you grabbed one, see yesterday's post for the team's take. We haven't checked resale prices since.
