Lowkey Flips Today: Analogue Super Nt+ & Mega Sg+ (Oct 19)

· 3 min read · By the Friends & Family team

Analogue's Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ go up for pre-order this morning at $219.99. Our team thinks the profit is limited at first and wouldn't buy a lot. Here's the reasoning.

What's worth a look today? Analogue's Super Nt+ (Super Nintendo) and Mega Sg+ (Sega Genesis) pre-orders open this morning. Our team's short version: they have potential, but the team doubts supply will be tight, so they wouldn't load up. Everything below is our team's read from the private lowkey flips channel, plus what we confirmed on Analogue's own pages.

Analogue Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ pre-orders

From Analogue's product pages:

  • When: Today, October 19, at 8 AM Pacific (11 AM Eastern). The store page says it opens at 8am PT.
  • Price: $219.99 for either console.
  • Ships: December 2026. Our team said "hopefully," since Analogue hasn't given an exact date.
  • Super Nt+ versions: Classic, SF and Black.
  • Mega Sg+ versions: USA, EU and JP.
  • Controllers: Not included. Analogue sells the 8BitDo SN30 and M30 separately for $29.99 each.
  • Quantity limit: We couldn't find a per-customer limit or a stated production number on the pages we read.

Analogue's pages also list what these models don't have: openFPGA, built-in games, and the Analogue 3D features such as save states and 4K display modes.

What our team thinks

Our team's estimate is a resale of roughly $250 against the $219.99 price, and they put question marks on that number. Their reasoning:

  • The "final run" wasn't final. The 2022 originals were billed as the last run, and these are essentially a refreshed version. After the re-launch was announced, our team says prices on the older units came down a lot, from around $800 to $1,000 to roughly $350 to $400 for the Super Nt, with the Mega Sg moving the same way. Those are the team's figures from eBay listings, and we haven't pulled our own sold data for this post.
  • Lessons from an earlier Analogue release. Our team points to a previous Analogue color run as the comparison. Some of the best colors sold out in under 10 minutes, but one staff member said the profit right away was only about $25 after fees. A later re-release in other colors left those units at roughly $375 to $400, and the team expects a possible bump in Q4 with holiday sales.
  • Supply is probably not tight. If Analogue makes as many of these as it made of that earlier release, the team thinks profit is limited at first. They also suspect new colors could follow, as happened with that earlier release.

Team take: Don't buy a lot. The team thinks the Super Nt+ and Mega Sg+ have potential, but they take a long time to appreciate, and they doubt the supply is very limited. If you want one for yourself, or one or two as a patient hold, that's a different story. This is the team's opinion, not a prediction of where prices will go.

Before you order

  • Your money is tied up until December. Pre-orders ship about two months out, so don't count it as cash.
  • Cancellation and returns: Analogue's store page says it has a refund, return and cancellation policy that covers pre-orders, but the page we could read didn't spell out the terms. We couldn't confirm the details, so read the policy at checkout before ordering.
  • Pick the version you'd actually sell. Which colors and regions will trade best is unknown until they ship.
