The Pokémon Company has added the Mega Rayquaza ex Premium Tournament Collection to the product gallery on Pokemon.com, and it was one of the more talked-about Pokémon TCG reveals on October 29. It is a boxed collection built around a foil Mega Rayquaza ex promo. No price is listed. Here is what is confirmed, what isn't, and how we'd think about it.
What is in the box
According to the official product page, each box includes:
- 8 Pokémon TCG booster packs
- 1 foil promo card featuring Mega Rayquaza ex
- 3 foil promo cards: Zinnia's Trust, Adventure Lantern and Mega Rayquaza Cap
- 2 cards that form one Legendary Summit Stadium
- 65 Dragon Shield card sleeves in a themed box
- 1 Dragon Shield deck box
- 1 plastic Pokémon coin
- 1 code card for Pokémon TCG Live
The page does not say which sets the eight packs come from. Don't assume they are Delta Reign packs until Pokémon says so.
The release date is unclear
This is the part to watch. The same official page lists "Launch: February 12, 2027" and also says the collection will be available where Pokémon TCG products are sold on November 20, 2026. PocketMonsters.net reports that the product was originally listed for November 20 and now shows February 12. Pokémon hasn't explained the difference.
Until it does, treat February 12, 2027 as the date to plan around and expect it could still be corrected. For comparison, our Delta Reign guide covers the main set that releases earlier, on November 6.
Where it will be sold
Pokémon says the collection will be available "where Pokémon TCG products are sold." That is generic wording. It doesn't name Pokémon Center, Target, Walmart or any hobby store, so we don't know whether it is a mass-retail product, a hobby-focused one, or both.
What we don't know
- Price. Nothing official yet. Anyone quoting an MSRP is guessing.
- Purchase limits. Retailers set these closer to launch.
- Cancellation and return terms. These depend on the retailer, and no retailer has listed the product yet, so we can't check them.
- Which packs are inside. See above.
Why it matters to resellers
Boxed collections that pair a foil promo of the headline Pokémon with packs and accessories tend to draw attention from both collectors and players. The Dragon Shield sleeves and deck box point at the tournament crowd, while the Mega Rayquaza ex promo is the card most collectors will care about.
We have no sold-listing data for this box because it isn't on sale, so we can't say what it will resell for. We also won't guess.
Flip, hold or pass?
This is analysis, not a promise.
- Flip: Too early. With no price, no retailer and a date that may still move, there is no entry point to evaluate. Pre-orders from random marketplace sellers for a product that hasn't launched are a red flag.
- Hold: The only thing worth doing right now is watching for a retailer listing and an MSRP. If it lands at a normal collection price and you can buy it from a retailer that takes returns, that's a far better position than paying a premium on day one.
- Pass: Pass on anything priced above retail before launch. Wait for the real price.
