Pokémon TCG: Mega Evolution—Delta Reign releases November 6, 2026, and sealed preorders are already listed well above what the products are reported to cost at retail. Before you chase a booster box at a premium, look at what the previous set did after launch.
One note up front: Pokémon hasn't published a full product and price list on the pages we checked. The price figures below come from a third-party tracker and are unconfirmed until a retailer or Pokémon Center page says otherwise.
What Pokémon has confirmed
From The Pokémon Company International's announcement:
- Release date: November 6, 2026 (announced August 20)
- Size: over 135 cards, including more than 20 Trainer cards and over 35 special illustration cards
- Headliners: Mega Rayquaza ex, plus Mega Golurk ex, Mega Malamar ex and Mega Golisopod ex
Retail partners and set pages report that prerelease events run from October 24 at participating Play! Pokémon stores, and that the set goes live in Pokémon TCG Live on November 5. Those dates came from secondary pages, not the announcement itself.
What preorders are listed at
A NerdSnack price table, using TCGplayer market data last checked September 25, lists these Delta Reign sealed products:
| Product | Reported MSRP | Preorder market | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Booster Box (36 packs) | $161.64 | $263.01 | about 1.6x |
| Elite Trainer Box | $49.99 | $135.71 | about 2.7x |
| Booster Bundle (6 packs) | $26.94 | $80.53 | about 3x |
| Pokémon Center ETB | $59.99 | $599.92 | about 10x |
Treat the MSRP column carefully. The booster box and bundle numbers work out to $4.49 per pack, but I couldn't match them or the $49.99 ETB figure to an official Pokémon page, and the ETB number looks low next to this year's other ETBs. Some hobby shops have also reported different preorder asks. The Pokémon Center ETB figure is a thin-market price for a product that may not be easy to buy, so don't build a plan on it.
On X, the deal tracker PokemonDealsTCG posted on October 9 that Delta Reign booster box preorders were up at Target. That is an unofficial tracker, and we couldn't find a Target listing or price to confirm it. We haven't verified it.
The precedent: Pitch Black
The same NerdSnack write-up compares Delta Reign to Pitch Black, which released July 17, 2026. Its figures:
- Elite Trainer Box: $123 about six weeks before release, $77 on September 25 (down 37%)
- Booster Box: $276 before release, $186 on September 25 (down 32%)
- Pokémon Center ETB: $589 before release, $117 (down 80%)
That is one source and one set, so it isn't a rule. But it is the most recent mainline example, and it points the same way as most hyped launches: preorder prices are set by scarcity fear, then supply arrives.
Fee math: where the margin goes
eBay's Collectible Card Games rate for a seller without a Store is 13.25% of the total sale (up to $7,500) plus $0.40 per order over $10, according to eBay's fee page. The fee applies to the whole amount the buyer pays, so sales tax and shipping raise it a little.
Using the reported booster box numbers, and ignoring shipping and supplies:
- Sells at $263.01: fees about $35.25, leaving about $227.76. Against a $161.64 buy, roughly $66 profit.
- Falls 32% like Pitch Black's box, to about $178.85: fees about $24.10, leaving about $154.75. That is about $7 below the $161.64 cost.
So the flip only works if you sell near the peak. A drop of the size Pitch Black showed turns a profit into a loss.
Cancellation and returns
We couldn't verify Target's or Pokémon Center's current preorder cancellation rules from their own help pages. Third-party guides say a Pokémon Center preorder can be cancelled only before it is processed for shipping, and that it is charged around a week before release. Treat that as unconfirmed. Read the retailer's own preorder terms before you pay, because "I can cancel if the price drops" is the whole risk plan for a preorder flip.
Flip, hold or pass?
This is analysis, not a promise.
- Booster box at or near retail: reasonable to hold for resale or to open. It is low-risk only when the retailer accepts returns or cancellations, which you need to confirm.
- Preorder above retail: a pass for most people. You're paying the premium the Pitch Black example shows can disappear.
- Pokémon Center ETB: a hold only if you got it at retail. Don't pay a collector's premium on a product whose price has fallen 80% before.
- Individual cards: the Mega Rayquaza ex and the special illustration cards usually move after the set opens, so waiting for real sold prices is cheaper than guessing now.
