Wizards of the Coast announced at New York Comic Con that Regal Rewards members who see Avengers: Doomsday in Infinity Vision on opening weekend can get an exclusive Doctor Doom Magic: The Gathering card. The window is Dec 17-20, 2026, "while supplies last."
That makes it a cheap, time-boxed way to get a promo that can't be bought at retail. The catch is that the quantity is unknown, so nothing about resale value is knowable yet. Here's what's confirmed and how we'd think about it.
What's confirmed
Per WDW News Today, Dexerto and Geeks + Gamers:
- Card: Doctor Doom, King of Latveria, a promo version of the commander from the Doom Prevails deck. Art by Jorge Molina, showing Doom flanked by three masked Latverian Witches.
- Stats: a 3/3 Legendary Creature for {1}{U}{B}{R}. The promo plays the same as the regular card, so the art is the only difference.
- Where: participating Regal theaters in the US, at Infinity Vision showtimes. That's Disney's label for premium large-format screens.
- Who: Regal Rewards members. Membership is free (one outlet calls it Crown Club, the same program).
- When: Dec 17-20, 2026. The movie opens in US theaters Dec 18, so Thursday previews count.
- Supply: "while supplies last." Regal hasn't published a quantity.
A date warning: Regal's promo page reportedly listed the dates as "10/17-10/20" by mistake at first. December is correct. We couldn't load Regal's page ourselves (it returned an error), so check regmovies.com/promotions/avengers before you buy tickets.
What's not confirmed
- How many cards each theater gets. Dexerto notes Regal hasn't said, so not every eligible member is guaranteed one.
- Whether it's one card per person or per ticket. We couldn't find this stated anywhere.
- Foil or non-foil. Coverage doesn't say.
- Whether other chains get a version. Everything announced is Regal only.
Can you flip it?
There's no sold data, because the card doesn't exist in the wild until December. We're not going to guess a price. What we can say:
- Cost to get one is low. A free Regal Rewards account plus an Infinity Vision ticket, which varies by theater and time slot.
- The upside depends entirely on supply. Event promos with tight, location-limited runs can get pulled by players and Marvel collectors alike. A giveaway Regal is able to stock in every participating theater is a different story. We don't know which this is.
- The regular card is cheap. The borderless Doctor Doom in the Marvel Super Heroes Commander set (June 2026, mythic) showed low single-digit pricing on the EchoMTG page we checked, though that site labels its numbers a gauge rather than live prices. A promo needs a real collector premium over that to be worth the trip.
- Wizards theater promos have precedent, but not price data. Regal and Wizards ran a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Play Booster giveaway in March 2026 (Regal press release). We couldn't find resale numbers for it, so we won't claim a pattern.
Fee math if you do sell
eBay's Collectible Card Games rate is 13.25% plus $0.40 per order over $10 (eBay selling fees). On a hypothetical $20 sale, fees come to $3.05, leaving about $16.95 before shipping and a sleeve. If you only go for one copy, that has to beat the ticket you were already buying. Our full reseller fees breakdown covers other platforms.
Flip, hold or pass
This is analysis, not a promise.
- See the movie anyway? Book an early Infinity Vision showing and grab the card. It's close to free upside.
- Buying tickets only for the card? Pass for now. With no quantity, no limit and no sold comps, you'd be paying for a lottery ticket.
- Buying multiple tickets to farm copies? Pass until Regal states the per-person limit. It may not allow it, and you don't want to be stuck with extra seats.
- Listing early on eBay? Treat any listing before December as speculation. Wait for the first real sold prices after opening weekend.
What to watch
- Regal's quantity or per-ticket limit, once it's published
- Whether the card is foil, and the finish
- Showtimes selling out in Infinity Vision theaters near you
- First sold listings in the days after Dec 20
- Any second chain or format getting a similar card
