Signed Chance the Rapper Coloring Book Vinyl: A $300 Flip

· 4 min read · By the Friends & Family team

Chance the Rapper's official store quietly dropped hand-signed Coloring Book 10th anniversary vinyl for $100. We posted it in Vinyl Kings, and it's already sold out. No other major group posted it. With Q4 here, we expect these to sell for around $300.

On the first day of Q4, Chance the Rapper's official store, Star Line by Chance the Rapper, put up a hand-signed 10th anniversary deluxe edition of Coloring Book for $100. It's the kind of drop our Vinyl Kings channel exists for: a beloved album, a real signature, a limited quantity and a holiday season right around the corner. Here's what it is, how we called it, and why we think it's around a $300 record.

What the signed Coloring Book vinyl is

The [Signed] Coloring Book 10th Anniversary Vinyl – Deluxe Edition includes:

  • 2×LP on metallic gold vinyl in a gatefold sleeve.
  • 3 bonus acoustic songs: Summer Friends, Blessings and Same Drugs.
  • A 24″ × 12″ poster.
  • Hand-signed by Chance the Rapper, in a "LIMITED QTY," according to the store.
  • Price: $100. The same deluxe edition without the signature is $70, and that one is still in stock.

The signed version is now sold out.

How we called it

On October 1, Vinch posted the signed edition in Vinyl Kings at 10:15 AM Eastern and told members he was buying it himself. Within minutes, member checkouts were landing in our #success channel, and the signed edition is now sold out.

No other major group posted it. Getting members in before a limited signed run sells out is the whole reason people call us the Vinyl Kings.

Why we expect around $300

It's a landmark album. Coloring Book came out on May 13, 2016 as a free, streaming-only mixtape. In 2017 it won the Grammy for Best Rap Album, the first streaming-only project ever to win a Grammy. That year Chance also took home Best New Artist and Best Rap Performance for "No Problem." Ten years later, this is the anniversary edition, and the signed copies are the ones collectors will chase.

The signature is the premium. Unsigned copies of the 10th anniversary pressings have mostly sold for $50 to $70 on eBay, and the unsigned deluxe is still $70 at the store. What makes this record special is the autograph, and buying straight from the artist's official store gives you about the cleanest proof of authenticity there is.

Signed rap vinyl sells. Here's what signed hip-hop records sold for on eBay in September 2026, most of them with third-party (JSA) authentication:

  • Kendrick Lamar, DAMN.: about $365
  • Logic, The Incredible True Story: about $462
  • Dr. Dre, The Chronic: $490
  • Don Toliver, Hardstone Psycho: about $200

No signed copies of this edition have sold on eBay yet, so we're early. A Grammy-winning album, a 10th anniversary edition and an official-store signature put it right in that range. Our target is around $300.

The math. eBay takes 13.6% plus $0.40 on a vinyl sale, charged on the sale price plus shipping and sales tax. At $300, that's roughly $44 in fees, leaving about $256. Against a $100 buy, that's around $150 profit per copy before shipping.

Q4 is when vinyl sells

The timing is the other half of the call. Vinyl demand spikes hard at the end of the year: the weeks before Christmas are regularly the biggest vinyl sales weeks of the year in the U.S., at more than 2 million records in a single week. Luminate reported U.S. vinyl sales in Q4 2025 were up 13.1% on Q4 2024. We broke down the holiday numbers in our GTA 6 vinyl article.

A signed record from a Grammy-winning album, shipping in October, lands right as gift shoppers start looking.

How to sell it for the most

  1. Keep it sealed and keep your proof. Save your order confirmation and shipping emails from chancestuff.com. Proof that it came from the official store is a big part of what buyers pay for.
  2. Don't rush. With the holidays ahead and no signed copies on the market yet, there's no reason to undercut yourself in week one.
  3. Pick the right marketplace. Compare fees and buyers in our guide to Discogs vs. eBay for selling vinyl.
  4. Sell in the community. Our vinyl WTB/WTS channel is where collectors and sellers in the Discord trade with each other, often faster than waiting on an eBay listing.
