Xbox Series X-BITE Alligator Giveaway: How to Enter & Value

· 4 min read · By the Friends & Family team

Xbox built one working Series X inside a five-foot alligator and is giving it away for free through November 10. It can't be bought, and the official rules say the prize can't be sold either. Here is how to enter and what it's worth.

The Xbox Series X-BITE is a one-of-a-kind, working Xbox Series X built into a custom alligator more than five feet long, and Xbox is giving it away. Only one exists. You can't buy it, and the only way to get it is Xbox's free sweepstakes, which runs from 9:00 a.m. PT on November 3 to 11:59 p.m. PT on November 10, 2026. Xbox lists the prize's approximate retail value at $799.99. The official rules say the prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash, so there is nothing to flip.

How do you enter the Xbox Series X-BITE giveaway?

Entry is free and takes a minute. Per Xbox Wire and the official rules, you can enter on X, Instagram or TikTok:

  1. Follow @XBOX on the platform you choose.
  2. Repost one of Xbox's designated sweepstakes posts. On X, use the repost menu and pick Quote.
  3. Type #XbiteSweepstakes yourself in your repost. The rules say the hashtag must be typed manually, and reposts without it don't count.
  4. Keep your account public. Private accounts are not eligible.

You can enter once on each platform, for up to three entries total. Entries must be posted by 11:59 p.m. PT on November 10. Xbox says it will draw the winner on or around November 11, by direct message on the platform you entered with.

Who can enter?

Per the official rules, you must be 18 or older, a legal resident physically located in the 50 U.S. states, D.C. or Puerto Rico, and have an account on X, Instagram or TikTok. (Xbox's announcement post mentions only the 50 states and D.C., while the full rules also list Puerto Rico. The rules are the controlling document.) Employees of Microsoft and the agencies running the promotion, and their immediate family, can't win.

What is the Xbox Series X-BITE worth?

Listed value: $799.99 (the "approximate retail value" in the official rules). That figure covers a custom-designed Xbox Series X console and controller bundle. Xbox says design elements are at its sole discretion.

That is not a market price. No unit can be bought, no unit has been awarded yet, and so there are no eBay sold listings to quote (checked November 3, 2026). The rules also say the prize is not transferable, or redeemable for cash, so a winner shouldn't plan on selling it. If you win and want to know your options, read the rules first and ask Xbox's promotion administrator.

What is it, and who made it?

According to Xbox Wire, an alligator "swallowed" an Xbox Series X whole, and it still works. The console sits inside the alligator and shows through an illuminated Xbox Nexus logo in its body. A custom Xbox Wireless Controller with bite marks rests in its jaws, with Xbox-green irises and Nexus-inspired pupils. Creature animatronics studio John Nolan Studio built it through 3D modeling, sculpting and fabrication. Xbox says it's a custom fabrication, no real alligators were used or harmed, and it's best as display only.

Xbox ties the stunt to its November Florida theme.

How do you claim it? What happens if you win?

  • Notification: a direct message on the platform you entered with, around November 11.
  • Time limit: you have 48 hours to reply with your name, daytime phone number and email. Xbox then contacts you and needs a reply within 24 hours to verify eligibility and get a shipping address (no P.O. boxes).
  • Shipping: the prize ships about eight weeks after you are confirmed.
  • Taxes: the winner is responsible for any taxes and costs not covered in the rules.
  • Publicity: winners agree to let Microsoft use their first name, last initial and/or social handle.

Add info@XBOXpromotions.com to your safe senders list so the verification email doesn't land in spam, as the rules suggest. Be careful about anyone else messaging you about "winning": the rules say Xbox contacts the winner through the platform used to enter.

Is it worth entering? Our take

Enter: yes, if you want it as a display piece. It's free, you can enter on three platforms, and the effort is a repost.

Flip: no. There's no way to buy it, and the rules say you can't transfer it or turn it into cash.

Odds: Xbox says the odds depend on the number of eligible entries, and it hasn't published an entry count. With one prize and a free entry, expect a very large pool.
