· 2 min read · By the Friends & Family team

The Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition is priced at $899.99 in the US and launches November 13, 2026, per Dexerto and FullCleared's coverage of the pre-order announcement. Xbox's own announcement says only that the collection arrives "in November" in select markets, so treat the exact date as reported rather than confirmed by Microsoft.

Pre-orders opened with invites on August 26 and to everyone on August 27, and are limited to one collection per customer, according to Dexerto and FullCleared.

What you get

  • Xbox Series X25 Limited Edition console in a translucent OG Green shell with visible internals
  • Xbox Wireless Controller X25 Special Edition, a matching translucent controller (also sold separately)
  • A full download of Halo: Campaign Evolved
  • Individual numbering: Dexerto reports each console carries a unique engraving

What it sells for

Our releases page records an eBay sold average of $1,634 across 10 sales for the console as of October 26, 2026, against the $899.99 retail price. That is our team's check of completed sales. It is a small sample taken before launch, so prices can move.

Why this matters for resale

  • Limited edition tied to a milestone. It marks 25 years of Xbox.
  • Order cap. One per customer limits how many a single buyer can hold.
  • Pre-launch premium. Completed sales are already above retail.
  • Collector appeal. Translucent consoles have a following.

Risks and the case against

  • Small sample. Ten sales is not a market. Premiums often fade once units ship and stock is easy to see.
  • High cash outlay. $899.99 per unit ties up money until delivery.
  • Wider supply than it looks. Pre-orders go through Xbox and participating retailers, and unsold units can show up later.
  • Shipping and condition. A boxed console is heavy, and a scratched translucent shell hurts value. Fees on a $1,000+ sale are real; see our reseller fees guide.
  • Marketplace rules. Selling a pre-order you do not hold can break them.

Flip, hold or pass

This is analysis, not a promise.

  • Flip: If you already hold a confirmed order and sold prices stay well above retail after fees once units ship.
  • Hold: If you are a collector. Sealed units tend to be the version buyers want.
  • Pass: If you would have to pay a premium to get one. After fees, you may be left with little.
