2026 Bowman Football Sapphire Edition went live on Topps' EQL entry platform on October 29 at $999.99 per hobby box. The first eBay sale we can find is a $1,725 presale from launch day, and ML, who runs sports cards in our Discord, expects the box to settle around $1,300 to $1,600 once product ships. How rare is it? Topps doesn't publish a print run, but ML's read of the odds sheet is roughly 1,300 cases of 10 boxes. That's his estimate, not a Topps number.
How much is a 2026 Bowman Football Sapphire box?
- Retail price: $999.99 per hobby box (Topps' EQL launch page)
- Contents: 8 packs per box, 4 cards per pack (32 cards)
- Hits: 1 autograph per box (the box notes that redemption cards may be included)
- Launch: October 29 at 1pm ET on EQL. The launch page now shows it as closed.
- Cases: a sealed case (10 boxes) had its own launch
Topps hasn't posted a ship date on the pages we checked, so treat the release date as unconfirmed beyond the launch itself.
What's in it, and how rare are the cards?
This is the first Bowman Sapphire release that includes NFL players. Last year's football Sapphire was college-only, under the Bowman Chrome University name. ML's read of the checklist:
- Checklist size: about 500 subjects: 200 college players, 200 rookies and 100 veterans. The NBA Sapphire had about 300.
- Autographs: Josh Allen is the biggest signer, according to ML. There are no Mahomes or Brady autos, though the vet list is solid.
- Lowest numbered color: Gold is the lowest numbered color listed for football, which he sees as necessary with a checklist this big.
Topps' official odds sheet (dated October 28) lists these odds, written as Topps prints them:
| Card | Odds |
|---|---|
| Chrome NFL base Gold Sapphire | 1:21 |
| Chrome NFL base Padparadscha Sapphire | 1:1,010 |
| Base Chrome Autograph Sapphire | 1:95 |
| Base Chrome Rookie Autographs Sapphire | 1:58 |
| Sapphire Selections Autographs NFL | 1:230 |
| Hidden Gems Padparadscha | 1:20,192 |
Topps adds that actual contents and odds may vary from the intended configuration.
2026 Bowman Football Sapphire eBay price: what it's selling for
We checked eBay sold listings on October 30, 2026. Only exact matches count here; case-break spots and multi-box lots are left out.
- 2026 Bowman Football Sapphire hobby box: one sale, $1,725 on October 29, a "confirmed presale" with free delivery. It was listed as Buy It Now or Best Offer, so the final price could have been lower. One sale isn't a market.
- Comparable, 2025 Bowman Chrome University Sapphire hobby box (last year's football version): three sales from August to October, $313 to $399, typically about $390. The $313 sale was an auction; the others were Buy It Now.
- Comparable, 2025-26 Bowman Sapphire NBA hobby box: three sales, $3,395 to $3,696, typically near $3,400. ML says regular NBA Bowman is worth roughly double regular NFL Bowman.
- Comparable, regular 2026 Bowman Football hobby box: about $325 to $365 across eight recent sales from October 24 to 29.
A $1,725 first sale is about 1.7 times retail.
The flip math
eBay's trading card fee is 13.25% plus $0.40 per order, charged on item price, shipping and sales tax. Shipping costs come on top, and we don't have a number for them.
- At the $1,725 presale price: fees are about $229, leaving roughly $1,496 before you ship the box.
- At ML's $1,300 to $1,600 range: you keep about $1,127 to $1,388.
- Against $999.99 plus tax, the box breaks even at roughly $1,153 on eBay, before shipping.
Every price in ML's range clears retail, but the margin at the low end is modest, and any sale under about $1,153 loses money.
Flip, hold or pass? Our take
ML's view is that the product should be solid for single values, but he doesn't think NFL Sapphire can hold half of NBA's price. His reasoning: a bigger checklist, rookie classes that aren't close to the NBA's, and a larger print run than usual. He thinks the Sapphire hype could carry it a bit higher than the numbers say. "Maybe we get lucky" at $2,000 a box, but he calls that less likely.
- Cases are the higher end. He expects sealed cases to sell above loose boxes.
- Loose boxes are the lower end. Around $1,300 to $1,600 is his base case when they ship.
- A $1,725 presale is the optimistic outcome, not the baseline.
If you hold a box, the question is whether to sell into presale demand now or wait for ship day. If you're thinking of buying above retail, the margin shrinks quickly.
What to watch
- More sold listings. A few more sales above $1,153 would confirm the flip works.
- Ship date. Presale prices often change once boxes are in hand.
- Early hits. Top rookie and Josh Allen autographs will move the market more than the odds sheet does.
- Sister releases. See how we covered the 2026 Bowman Football hobby and jumbo boxes, the 2026 Bowman Chrome Sapphire baseball box and 2026 Topps Chrome Tennis Sapphire.

Every Topps drop gets a full breakdown in our sports card channel before it goes live: pricing, what's worth entering, what to skip, and the details you need on drop day. When ML says "pass," members save their money.
And when it's time to sell, you don't have to rely on eBay. Our WTB and WTS channels are where big sellers, breakers and collectors in the community buy and sell with each other every day, and that's often the fastest way to move sealed boxes and cases.
