Burger King Hello Kitty Toys: Gold Figure Resale Prices

· 4 min read · By the Friends & Family team

Burger King's Hello Kitty and Friends kids meal toys launched October 20 with a rare golden Hello Kitty, and complete sets are already selling for $75 to $120 on eBay. The catch is that every toy is a blind box.

Burger King's Hello Kitty and Friends King Jr. Meal launched on October 20 with six blind-boxed toys, including a golden Hello Kitty that Burger King says is about 5% of the toys. Sealed complete sets with the gold one are selling for $75 to $120 on eBay, while common figures go for about $9 to $15. Short version: the money is in the gold figure and complete sets, and you only get there by buying a lot of meals.

What Burger King announced

Dexerto reported the collab on October 20, and its post got about 3,400 likes and 150,000 views on X within hours. Burger King's own press release, dated October 19, confirms the details:

  • Start date: October 20, 2026, at participating US Burger King restaurants, while supplies last
  • Toys: six figures, one per King Jr. Meal, in a mystery blind box
  • Characters: Hello Kitty, My Melody, Kuromi, Cinnamoroll and Keroppi, each wearing a Burger King crown, plus a golden-colored Hello Kitty
  • The gold one: the fine print on Burger King's promo art says about five percent of the toy premiums are golden Hello Kitty toys
  • The meal: 4 or 6 nuggets, or a hamburger or cheeseburger, plus fries or applesauce and a drink, with a Hello Kitty paper crown. The release doesn't state a price.
  • Run length: other coverage says it runs through November 30, but that's not in the press release, so treat it as unconfirmed.

There's also a one-day stunt. On Friday, October 23 (from 11 a.m. PT), the Downey, California location is running a Golden Claw Machine with a one-of-one, 14K gold-plated Hello Kitty figurine inside. You'd have to be there, and it has free entry without a purchase, so it isn't a supply source for resellers.

What the toys are selling for

We checked eBay sold listings on October 20. Sales go back to October 14, before the official launch, which suggests some restaurants put the toys out early (we couldn't confirm how). Here's what sold:

  • Complete set of 6 with gold, sealed: mostly $75 to $95, with a high of $120 on October 17
  • Lots of 5 without gold: $24 to $50, most at $40 to $50
  • Gold Hello Kitty alone: $16 to $40 for most sales, with some outliers up to $60. We saw $85 on one listing, but it was titled as the full collection
  • Single common figures (Keroppi, My Melody, Cinnamoroll, Kuromi): about $9 to $15, with a $30 Cinnamoroll as an outlier

The first-week premium on sealed sets is real. The caveat is that it's the first week. Fast food toy prices usually fade as more restaurants stock them, and nobody outside Burger King knows how many of each figure exist.

The math: does it flip?

At a 5% gold rate, you'd expect roughly 1 gold figure per 20 meals, with plenty of duplicates along the way. Burger King doesn't list a price for the meal, so we can't give your exact cost. What we can give is the other side of the sale. A $85 complete set on eBay nets about:

  • eBay fee of 13.6% plus $0.40: about $12
  • Shipping for a small box of six figures: roughly $6 to $7, though many buyers pay it
  • Net per set: about $66 to $73

A single common figure at $12 nets about $5 to $6 after fees and padded envelope shipping. Buying meals just to sell the ordinary toys doesn't pay. Our reseller fees breakdown has the current numbers by platform.

Why it could move

Gold is genuinely scarce at 5%. If the first-week gold figure sells for $16 to $40, that's a low price for a one-in-twenty pull that completes a set. Collectors need it to finish the lineup.

Sanrio crossover demand. Hello Kitty, Kuromi and My Melody have a large collector base outside the usual toy market. That's a broader audience than most kids' meal promos reach. For another blind-bag collectible, see our look at the Santa Cruz x Pokémon blind bag decks.

Supply risk. Burger King can restock toys during the run, and restaurants differ on how many they received. If the supply is deep, sets could fall below the current $75 floor by mid-November. This is our read, not data.

Flip, hold or pass? Our take

If you already have a complete set with gold: sell one now, hold one. $75 to $95 is a strong price for a few meals' worth of toys, and the premium usually fades once the promo is everywhere.

If you're buying meals to hunt the gold one: pass, unless you were eating there anyway. At roughly 1 in 20, you could spend far more on meals than the $16 to $40 a gold figure sells for alone.

If you're buying from other sellers: don't pay over $95 for a full set. That's the top of what sold for most of this week.
