The Grand Theft Auto VI Limited-Edition DualSense Wireless Controllers come in Black and White, retail at $84.99 and launch starting November 19, 2026. On eBay, presale listings have been selling for a middle price of about $129, which is roughly $44 over retail on paper. The catch: nobody has the controller in hand yet, so those are bets on stock, not proof of demand.
How much are the GTA VI DualSense controllers?
Per Sony's PlayStation Blog:
- US price: $84.99 (£74.99, €84.99, ¥12,480)
- Pre-orders: opened September 10 at 7:00am PT / 10:00am ET on PlayStation Direct
- Launch: starting November 19, with the exact date varying by country
- White Limited Edition: limited quantities at PlayStation Direct and participating retailers
- Black Limited Edition: limited quantities, exclusively through PlayStation Direct in the regions where it operates (including the US and UK)
- Look: the White edition is the daytime Vice City design, the Black is the nightlife one
Sony doesn't say how many it is making, so there is no published print run to compare against.
What are they selling for on eBay?
We checked eBay sold listings on October 29 for the GTA VI limited-edition DualSense:
- Black: 37 sales, $110 to $156, middle price about $129
- White: 14 sales, $100 to $154, middle price about $117
- Almost every listing is labeled presale or pre-order, meaning the seller is flipping an order that hasn't shipped
Black carries the premium, which fits Sony's wording: it is the version locked to PlayStation Direct.
Why this matters for resale
- It's tied to the biggest game launch of the generation. The controller lands the same window as the game, so demand peaks when buyers are most excited.
- Black is the scarcer version. One storefront, limited quantity.
- Sony limited controllers can climb after a sellout. Our LISA DualSense write-up covers the Wolverine controller, which settled well above retail once it sold out.
- Collectors want it sealed. Unopened boxes carry the price; an opened one is just a controller.
The case against
- Presale prices aren't realized profit. If you sold a presale, you still have to get the controller on November 19 and ship it fast.
- Stock could stay open. If PlayStation Direct and retailers still have units near launch, buyers have little reason to pay a premium. "Limited" on the box has not guaranteed a sellout for every Sony controller.
- Fees eat the margin. At $129, eBay's roughly 13.6% plus $0.40 fee is about $18, leaving about $111 before shipping against a cost of about $92 with tax. That is around $15 to $18 profit per unit.
- Launch-day returns. Retailer return windows matter if prices dip. Check the policy before you buy.
- Supply is unconfirmed. Anything about quantities or restocks is guesswork until Sony says more.
Flip, hold or pass? Our take
Black: small hold, small flip. If you already hold a Black preorder at $84.99, selling after launch into real demand likely beats selling a presale now. Don't buy more at an eBay premium.
White: pass unless you got it at retail. It has wider distribution, and the sold prices are lower.
What would change the call: a sellout across PlayStation Direct and participating retailers before November 19 (bullish), more stock or a second wave (bearish), and launch-week sold prices (the real test).
