Hallmark Halo Xbox Ornament: Will It Resell?

· 3 min read · By the Friends & Family team

Hallmark's translucent green Halo Special Edition Xbox ornament is live on Amazon at $27.99. The last two Xbox ornaments resell for less than retail or barely above it, so it's not an easy flip.

Hallmark's Halo Special Edition Xbox console ornament is now listed on Amazon for $27.99 and is labeled an Amazon exclusive. It's a translucent green replica of the Halo-edition Xbox with a controller, and it lights up and plays the console startup sound plus the "Halo Theme Mjolnir Mix" from Halo 2. Short version: Hallmark's earlier Xbox ornaments sold for $10 to $40 on eBay, so this one is a collector buy, not a reliable flip.

What's confirmed

Wario64 posted the listing on October 21, and the post pulled about 455 likes within hours. The Amazon page shows:

  • Price: $27.99, "available to ship in 1-2 days" when we checked on October 21
  • Product: Hallmark Keepsake Microsoft Christmas Ornament (Xbox Console), described as an Amazon exclusive
  • Design: green Halo Special Edition console with light and sound, about 3.5 x 1.25 x 3.5 inches, plastic, three LR44 batteries included
  • Sound: console startup sound and the Halo 2 "Mjolnir Mix"

We couldn't find a Hallmark.com page for it, a press release, or any quantity information. Whether Amazon limits how many you can buy, and how much stock exists, is unconfirmed.

What past Xbox ornaments sold for

Hallmark has released an Xbox ornament in each of the last two years. Hallmark lists the 2024 Original Xbox at $27.99, and the 2025 Xbox 360 launched at $28.99. We checked eBay sold listings on October 21:

  • 2025 Xbox 360 ornament: about $10 to $20, with sales on October 3 to 18 at $10, $11.11, $14.45, $14.49, $14.85, $18 and $19.95
  • 2024 Original Xbox ornament: $24.97 on October 4 and $39.99 on October 18

Read that carefully. The 360 ornament, a year after launch, sells for about half of retail. The 2024 original, now two years old and Halo-themed, holds around retail to $40. That's the best-case path for this new one, and it takes a year or two of waiting.

The math

On a $40 sale of a $27.99 ornament:

  • eBay fee of about 13.6% plus $0.40: roughly $5.80
  • Shipping a boxed ornament: about $6 to $8
  • Net: about $6 to $8 profit before you count the $27.99 you tied up

On a $25 sale you lose money. Our reseller fees breakdown has current numbers by platform.

Why it could still move

Halo nostalgia is real. The 2024 original, which also plays Halo music, has held its price better than the 360 one.

Amazon exclusive. If Amazon runs out before Christmas, shoppers who miss it may pay a premium in November and December. This is our read, not data.

Flip, hold or pass? Our take

Pass as a quick flip. Past Xbox ornaments don't show a margin that survives fees and shipping.

Hold only if you'd keep one anyway. Buy a single unit, don't open it, and expect a small premium over one to two years at best.

Don't buy multiples. The 2025 ornament shows what happens when stock lasts: prices sink under retail.
