The foil-cover edition of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2 just sold out on Amazon, and our team is picking up copies at Walmart for $59.99 before the Nov 5 release.

What's worth a look today? The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2. Our team said the foil-cover copies sold out on Amazon, that the cover is a "limited time 1st release," and that Walmart still has it available at $59.99 in the cart. The game releases Thursday, November 5. Below is the price by retailer, what the team said, and what we couldn't confirm.

How much is Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Switch 2?

Here is what we have for each retailer as of October 31, 2026:

  • Walmart: available, $59.99 in the cart, per our team's check today. See it at Walmart.
  • Amazon: the team said the foil-cover copies sold out. The team's target buy price at Amazon and Walmart was $59.99.
  • GameStop: $69.99, per our team.
  • Target: the team said it costs more than $59.99. We opened Target's page ourselves: it shows the game as available for preorder with a release date of Thursday, November 5, store pickup ready that day and shipping arriving Nov 6 to 11, but the page didn't display a price for us, so we can't quote one.

We didn't re-read the Amazon listing ourselves, so treat the Amazon sellout as the team's report, not our own check.

What is the "foil cover" and how rare is it?

The team described it as a foil cover for the game and noted it is a "limited time 1st release," meaning at some point these copies will be gone. We couldn't find a published print run or odds, so we can't say how rare it is. The team's point was simple: if it sells out at every retailer by release day, copies in hand could be worth more than shelf price. They called it a "could be nothing" play, not a sure thing.

Zelda Ocarina of Time Switch 2 resale value

The team didn't post a resale number for this game, so here is what we read on eBay. We checked eBay's sold listings on October 31, 2026 for the foil-cover (textured foil art) game, new, listed as a presale:

  • Most sold between about $90 and $99, mostly with free or low-cost shipping: $89.95, $89.99, $94.99 (twice) and $98.99.
  • One sold at the high end: $134.95, plus $9.35 delivery, listed as the "Foil Cover Edition" and the seller's last one.
  • Listings that sold were presales saying the game ships on Nov 5, so these buyers are paying before the game exists in anyone's hands.

At Walmart's $59.99, that is roughly $30 to $40 over retail before eBay fees and shipping, and the sold prices are for presales, not copies in hand. We left out sold results for the console, controllers and accessories, since they are different products. Treat all of this as a snapshot from one day, and check eBay yourself before you buy.

Can you cancel or return it?

We did not verify cancellation or return rules for Walmart, Amazon, GameStop or Target today. Read each retailer's own policy before you order, and keep the game sealed. Recent weeks have shown retailers can cancel pre-orders, as in our post on Walmart canceling Zelda Switch 2 orders.

The team's take

Hold, small and cheap. At $59.99 the downside is limited by what you paid, but a base game depends on release-day stock, and a game that isn't scarce at launch won't hold a premium. If every retailer is gone on Nov 5, the foil cover could be worth more; if restocks land, it won't. Don't expect a guaranteed profit.
