30th Celebration Sylveon & Greninja ex Box: eBay Math

· 4 min read · By the Friends & Family team

The 30th Celebration Sylveon ex Box and Greninja ex Box have been out for five weeks, and sealed copies are still selling on eBay for roughly $50 to $60 each. Here's what's inside, what the math looks like and where the catch is.

The 30th Celebration Sylveon ex Box and Greninja ex Box launched on September 16, 2026, and they are still moving on eBay. Single sealed boxes sold on October 19 and 20 at about $50 to $60, while Target's page lists the Sylveon box at $29.99.

That's a real gap, but it's a smaller one than the headline products from this set. Here's what the box is, what it sold for, and whether the numbers are worth your time.

What's in the box

Per Pokémon's official product page, each box has:

  • 1 foil promo card featuring Sylveon ex or Greninja ex
  • 1 foil oversize card of the same Pokémon
  • 4 Pokémon TCG: 30th Celebration booster packs

There are two versions, one per Pokémon. The official page doesn't list a price. Some retailers sell one or the other, and some sell a random "styles may vary" box.

What retailers charge

Retail is the messy part. I could only confirm one price on a retailer's own page:

  • Target shows the Sylveon ex Box at $29.99. When I opened the page on October 20, it read out of stock.
  • Other pages I found at higher prices were either marketplace-style listings or showed no clear seller. One Best Buy listing for a random box showed $249.99. I wouldn't use that as a retail reference.

Treat $29.99 as the working cost, and check the page you're buying from. Retailers change prices and stock by the minute, so nothing here means the box is available right now.

What it sold for on eBay

I checked eBay's sold and completed listings on October 20, 2026, sorted by newest. Single-box results from October 19 and 20 included:

  • About $50, with delivery around $5 to $8
  • About $60 with free delivery
  • $61.19 plus about $19.50 delivery on one sale
  • An auction that closed at $50 after 27 bids
  • A two-box listing (Sylveon plus Greninja) at $100 plus $6.50 delivery

Many sold on "best offer accepted," so the asking price isn't always the final price. I left out lots, tins and display cases because those are different products.

Fee math

eBay's final value fee for Collectible Card Games is 13.25% of the total sale (item plus shipping) up to $7,500, plus $0.40 per order over $10 (eBay fee page). Using a $29.99 cost:

Sale eBay fees Left after fees Over a $29.99 cost
$50.00 + $5.78 shipping about $7.79 about $47.99 about $18.00
$60.00 + free shipping about $8.35 about $51.65 about $21.66
$100.00 + $6.50 for two boxes about $14.51 about $91.99 about $32.01 (about $16 per box)

Those numbers are before your own postage and packing. A bubble mailer and label can eat several dollars, so a realistic profit on a single box is closer to $10 to $15.

The return catch

Target's page for this box says the item can't be returned or exchanged. That matters: if you buy and the price drops, you can't send it back. I didn't verify the policy at every retailer, so check yours before ordering. Nobody should call this "low risk."

Flip, hold or pass

Flip, only if you can get it at $29.99 or close. Roughly $10 to $15 per box is thin but real, and demand looks steady for now. If you can only find it above retail, pass.

Hold: not a strong case. This is a promo-and-packs box, and the Pikachu cards are in every pack of the main set, so it's supply that sets the price. A big restock could push the price down, and that is analysis, not a prediction.

Pass at $50 or more. At that price you're paying the resale price, and the resale price leaves you little room after fees.
