- High end: $145 on best-offer sales around October 28 and 30.

Is the Hot Wheels RLC Ferrari F40 sold out?
Yes on Mattel Creations as of November 1. Mattel does not announce restocks. Check the Mattel Creations page before paying aftermarket prices.
Why the F40 matters for resale
- Ferrari licensing. It is a draw beyond core Hot Wheels collectors, and our team called it the first RLC Ferrari when flagging it.
- Membership gate. Only RLC members could buy, and the limit was two.
- Real detail. Opening clamshell, silver-plated body and a soft-touch box.
- Steady demand. About 50 US sales in the last week in a tight $120 to $130 band.
Risks and the case against
- Ship date. Cars ship by November 20. If you sell before you hold the car, you carry delivery risk.
- Supply is unknown. Mattel has not said how many were made. More in-hand cars arriving could push prices down.
- Falling from the peak. Earlier sales ran higher. Waiting for a spike is a bet, not a plan.
- Fees. At $125, eBay's roughly 13% fee plus a small order fee is about $17. See our reseller fees guide.
- Condition. The box and display packaging must arrive undamaged for top price.
The math
At $125 sold with free shipping: about $17 in fees and about $5 to ship leaves roughly $103, or about $53 profit on a $50 car before tax and any shipping you paid Mattel. At $115 the profit is about $44. Two cars at the limit is roughly $88 to $106.
Flip, hold or pass
This is analysis, not a promise.
- Flip: if you already hold a car at $50 and sold prices stay above $115.
- Hold: if you collect Ferraris or RLC pieces. Keep the box mint.
- Pass: if you would pay more than about $95 now. After fees and shipping the margin gets thin fast.
