· 4 min read · By the Friends & Family team

The $70 Monster High Oogie Boogie doll sold out in Fang Club early access, and Mattel's public pre-sale opens today at noon Eastern. Here's what the team said about a rough drop, plus a Zelda 40th update.

What's worth a look today? One drop with a clock on it: the public pre-sale for the Monster High Skullector Disney Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas Oogie Boogie Doll opens today at noon Eastern on Mattel Creations. Yesterday's Fang Club early access sold out, and our team called the drop rough. Below is what we read on Mattel's page this morning, what our team said in the private lowkey flips channel, and a quick Zelda 40th update.

How much is the Oogie Boogie Monster High doll?

Here is what we read on the Mattel Creations product page this morning (October 30, 2026):

  • Retail price: $70.00 (one variant, listed as a Creations exclusive).
  • Status: the page shows the Fang Club member sale as sold out, with the public pre-sale beginning October 30 at 9 a.m. PT (noon Eastern).
  • Pre-sale delivery: Mattel's note on the page says the additional dolls are offered through a pre-sale, with delivery by Fall 2027 at the latest. If you ordered on October 29, Mattel says your order is still expected to ship on or before November 27, 2026.
  • Limit: the page lists a limit of 2 per customer, and notes purchase limits are subject to change at Mattel's sole discretion.

Our team's estimated resale, posted before the drop, is $115 to $130+, with more possible in the long term. That is the team's estimate, not a promise. eBay didn't load for us this morning, so we can't give you a sold range of our own for this doll. For context, our Draculaura Halloween doll post covers the earlier doll the team compared this one to.

What happened at the Fang Club drop

Our team said the drop was a mess. In the channel they described a queue that grew from about 45 seconds to several minutes, then lots of payment errors and lots of cancels. Their guess was some sort of site error, and they said it looked like manual buyers hit the same payment errors as automated ones, so ordinary fans didn't get through either. The doll showed sold out on the front end, came back briefly, then went out of stock again.

A teammate also noted that Nightmare Before Christmas has a huge fandom and that casual buyers come in beyond the usual collectors, the same thing they saw on the last drop of this kind.

The team's take: wait for the pre-order, don't chase blindly

Before the drop, the team said this could only go one of two ways: a repeat of the last Monster High doll, where Mattel ran extra pre-order waves, or a quick sellout with no extra drop. They said they were buying and could sit on the dolls. The team also warned that close to break even in the short term isn't impossible, and neither is a big jump. Our verdict is hold if you can wait until Fall 2027 for a pre-sale order, pass if you need cash back fast.

A pre-sale doll won't arrive for many months, so any plan to resell depends on where prices sit then, and on whether Mattel releases more.

Can you cancel or return it?

From Mattel Creations' help pages (read earlier this week):

  • Cancellation: the FAQ says "Once an order is submitted, it cannot be changed or canceled."
  • Returns: items bought directly from MattelCreations.com can be returned within 30 days of receipt, with proof of purchase, for a refund of the item price plus sales tax (shipping and processing fees are not refunded). Items must be in the condition received and in the original box. International orders are not eligible.

So you can't back out after ordering, and for a pre-sale the 30-day return clock only starts once the doll arrives. Keep the box sealed and in good shape.

Zelda 40th update

Our team's other notes from yesterday, as stated in the channel:

  • The Amazon drop was messy for the Nintendo Switch 2 Zelda 40th Anniversary console, which they said was out of stock almost immediately. The Pro Controller and carrying case listings were live, and the team called the case the lowest-margin item.
  • They said Target looked set to restock next week, and that Walmart cancellations seemed tied to that.
  • They said the best time to sell in the short term may be this week, before the game's release day next Thursday, November 5. On the base-game pre-order they placed, they said it's selling well but still has stock, and they plan to wait and see on release day.

For the full picture, see our Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 resale breakdown and the release day restocks post. We didn't re-check Amazon's, Target's or Walmart's cancellation and return policies today, so read each before you order.
