What's worth a look today? The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Playable Ocarina, a non-electric ocarina sold by Nintendo for $34.99. Our team picked it up on November 5 and noted that it is a Nintendo exclusive with a limit of 1 per order. It now shows Sold out on the Nintendo Store, and eBay sold listings from November 5 and 6 ran roughly $190 to $230. The team also flagged the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 hitting stock. Below is the price, the eBay check and our team's take.
How much is the Zelda Playable Ocarina?
- Retail price: $34.99, per the Nintendo Store listing.
- What you get: a playable ocarina, a strap and an instruction booklet that shows how to play 12 songs from the game. It is made of ABS resin and measures 3.5" x 3.5".
- Limit: 1, per our team. The Nintendo page lists it under "Exclusive."
- Shipping: the Nintendo Store advertises free shipping on orders of $50 or more (restrictions apply), so a single $34.99 ocarina means paying shipping. Our team made the same point.
- Status when we checked (November 6): the Nintendo page said "Sold out" and "Please check back soon." Nintendo did not promise a restock on that page.
This is not the HORI electric version. That one is a different product at a different price, covered in our Electric Ocarina of Time resale post.
Zelda Playable Ocarina eBay sold prices
We checked eBay's sold listings on November 6, 2026 for the Playable Ocarina:
- Sales from November 5 and 6 ran from about $190 to $230. Examples: $189.99, $194.00, $199.99, $200.00, $207.93, $219.95, $220.00 and $229.95.
- Most listings say "in hand" and use the Nintendo name, so they are real units, not preorders.
- Every sale we read was from the last two days, so this is a launch-window snapshot, not a settled price.
At $34.99 that is roughly five to six times retail before eBay fees and shipping. Even with a generous cut for both, the gap is wide. The risk is the same as with any sellout: prices set in the first 48 hours often fade if Nintendo restocks, and we saw no restock date. If you are buying to resell, only a sealed, never-opened unit counts, and your own cost is $34.99 plus shipping and tax.
Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2: price and what it sold for
Our team posted on November 5 that the Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition "just hit" the Nintendo Store. It now shows Sold out again, with the listing saying "More inventory is on the way!"
- Retail price: $519.99 (the game is not included), per the Nintendo Store. The release date on the page is October 29, 2026.
- eBay sold (checked November 6): most completed console sales landed between about $698 and $750, with a few at the high end, one at $860. That is roughly $180 to $230 over retail before fees and shipping.
- Accessories are separate: the matching Pro Controller sold around $150 to $170 on eBay the same day. We left them out of the console range.

Can you return it?
Nintendo's store return policy says you have 30 days after delivery to return or exchange physical products bought directly from the Nintendo Store. Shipping is not refunded unless the item arrived damaged, defective or different from what you ordered. Items that have been opened, unsealed or used are not accepted, and neither are items not bought directly from the Nintendo Store. We did not verify Nintendo's cancellation rules, so check them before you order.
Flip, hold or pass? Our take
- Playable Ocarina: flip, if you already have one. It is cheap, sealed units are scarce right now and sold prices are well above retail. The team bought and called out the limit of 1. We would not chase it on third-party markups, and a restock could cut the price quickly.
- Zelda 40th Switch 2: hold or pass unless you already have it at retail. At $519.99 the margin is real but the cash outlay is large, and Nintendo says more inventory is on the way.
Prices can move quickly. This is the team's read of one day of data, not a promise of profit.
