Reality Fracture Release Day: Sealed Prices on eBay

· 5 min read · By the Friends & Family team

Reality Fracture hits stores today, and Collector Booster Box sales on eBay have already slipped from about $490 to about $453 in a week. Here's what every sealed product is selling for on release day, and which ones still make money after fees.

Magic: The Gathering Reality Fracture releases in stores today, October 2, 2026. Presales have been running on eBay for weeks, so release day is a good time to check where sealed prices landed.

The short version: Collector Booster Boxes still sell well above MSRP, but they've been sliding all week. Play Booster boxes and regular Bundles sell at or below what most stores charge. The Secret Lair Bundle, which isn't out until later this month, has the biggest gap over MSRP.

Reality Fracture products and MSRP

From Wizards of the Coast's "Collecting Reality Fracture" article and the Reality Fracture product page:

Product MSRP What's inside
Play Booster $5.49 1 pack (Play Booster boxes have 30, so $164.70 a box)
Collector Booster $26.99 15 cards (boxes have 12, so $323.88 a box)
Bundle $57.99 9 Play Boosters and an oversized spindown die
Secret Lair Bundle $89.99 6 Play Boosters, 2 Collector Boosters, foil promos, foil lands, spindown die
Draft Night $89.99 12 Play Boosters, 1 Collector Booster, lands and tokens

The chase card is a serialized double rainbow foil Bloodline Recollector. Wizards says there are 500 across all languages and one shows up in less than 1% of Collector Boosters.

Store prices are often higher than MSRP. When we checked Target's site on October 2, it listed the Play Booster Display at $179.99, the Bundle at $59.99, and the Secret Lair Bundle at $104.99 with preorders sold out and a release date of October 23. Walmart's drawing priced the Collector Booster Box at $383.64, which we covered in our Walmart Reality Fracture drawing article.

What sealed Reality Fracture sold for on eBay

We checked eBay sold listings on the morning of October 2. These are sale prices before shipping, and we left out lots, cases and listings that weren't the sealed product.

Collector Booster Box

Sale dates Sales Middle price Range
Sept 25–29 56 about $489 $435–$550
Sept 30 9 $460 $440–$500
Oct 1–2 16 about $453 $416–$515

That's a drop of about $35 a box in a week. A sealed six-box case sold for $2,730 on October 1, which is $455 a box.

Other sealed products (sales from Sept 30 to Oct 2)

  • Collector Booster (single pack): most sales between $43 and $55, with a middle price of about $49.95.
  • Play Booster box (30 packs): middle price about $158 on October 1, down from about $175 a week earlier.
  • Bundle: most sales around $59.
  • Secret Lair Bundle (presale): about $160 to $169 on October 1 and 2, down from about $180 between September 26 and 30.

New sets often drop in the first few weeks as boxes get opened and singles fill the market, and Reality Fracture is following that pattern so far. Prices could keep falling or level off, and we don't know which.

The fee math

eBay's final value fee for Collectible Card Games is 13.25% of the total sale up to $7,500, plus $0.40 per order over $10. Before sales tax, shipping and supplies:

Product Cost eBay sale You keep Profit
Collector Booster Box $323.88 (MSRP) $450 $389.98 +$66.10
Collector Booster Box $383.64 (Walmart) $450 $389.98 +$6.34
Collector Booster $26.99 (MSRP) $49.95 $42.93 +$15.94
Play Booster box $179.99 (Target) $158 $136.66 −$43.33
Bundle $59.99 (Target) $59.37 $51.10 −$8.89
Secret Lair Bundle $104.99 (Target) $160 $138.40 +$33.41

To break even on a Collector Booster Box bought at MSRP, it has to sell for about $374. At Walmart's drawing price, it needs about $443, which is right around where boxes are selling now.

Can you cancel or return it?

Check this before you buy for a flip, because the big stores won't take sealed Magic back:

  • Target: its returns page says that starting January 30, 2023, "trading cards & trading card accessories" can't be returned.
  • Best Buy: its return policy lists "trading cards (including Pokémon cards)" as nonreturnable.
  • Walmart drawings: you can't cancel an entry, and the draw page says items "may not be returnable."

So treat any sealed Magic you buy as yours to keep. If prices keep dropping, you won't be able to send it back.

Our team's read

Slumpd, who covers Magic drops in our Discord, said on release eve that Collector Box prices looked good and the set was being well received. On single Collector Boosters, the take was that they're fine but more of a small flip, since they're cheap. That's Slumpd's opinion, not a promise, and it was written before this week's slide continued.

Flip, hold or pass?

This is our analysis, not a promise.

Flip: Collector Booster Boxes at or near MSRP still make money at today's prices, about $66 after fees on a $450 sale. The margin has been shrinking every few days, so if you're flipping, sooner has been better than later this week. At Walmart's drawing price there's barely anything left.

Hold: If you want Reality Fracture sealed for the long term, the Collector Booster Box is the product collectors usually hold, because of the serialized Bloodline Recollector and the Booster Fun cards. Release week is rarely the cheapest time to buy, so if you're buying to hold, it can make sense to wait and see where prices settle.

Pass: Play Booster boxes and regular Bundles are selling below what Target charges, so they don't work as flips right now. Buy them to open or to play, not to resell.

Watch: The Secret Lair Bundle has the widest gap, about $33 profit at Target's price and about $48 at MSRP. It doesn't ship until October 23 and presale prices have already dropped about $20 this week, so that gap could get smaller before it arrives.
