What's worth a look today? The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time for Nintendo Switch 2, which our team said dropped on Target overnight, and the Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console and accessories, which the team expects to see restocks of tonight. The game releases tomorrow, Thursday, November 5. Below is what Target's own listings showed when we checked on November 4, what the team told members, and what we couldn't confirm.
How much is Zelda: Ocarina of Time at Target?
On Target's site on November 4, 2026, Nintendo The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time - Nintendo Switch 2 was listed at $69.99 as a pre-order, with a release date of Thu, Nov 5 and free shipping (exclusions apply). It did not carry an out-of-stock label when we looked. Stock can change in minutes, so check your cart.
The team's own note was short: the Ocarina "dropped on Target overnight," and they hope to see Walmart soon. We haven't confirmed the game's price or stock at Walmart. For the full price-by-retailer breakdown, the foil first-print cover and the earlier eBay sold check, see our Ocarina of Time Switch 2 price guide. We did not confirm whether Target's copies have the foil cover.
Zelda 40th Switch 2 restocks: what the team expects
The team said they may see console and controller restocks overnight tonight, because tomorrow is the game's release date. They also pointed members to their earlier market-watch and links posts. Target's retail prices and stock on November 4:
| Item | Target price | Target stock on Nov 4 |
|---|---|---|
| Zelda 40th Anniversary Switch 2 console | $519.99 | Out of stock |
| Pro Controller, Zelda 40th Anniversary | $99.99 | Out of stock |
| Carrying case and screen protector | $39.99 | Out of stock |
All three showed "out of stock" on Target's search results when we checked, so a restock would have to land first. Our release-day restocks post has the rest of the team's notes, and the Zelda 40th Switch 2 resale breakdown has the specs.
What does it sell for on eBay?
We couldn't load eBay sold results today (the page returned an error), so we have no sold prices of our own to report for November 4. What we do have is the team's read from October 22, which was their view of eBay sold listings at that time and not a figure we re-checked:
- Console: retail $520, market $680+.
- Pro Controller: retail $100, market $155+, or $200+ with the Nintendo-exclusive stand.
- Carrying case: retail $40, market $60+.
The team said that with an eBay basic store the console's fee is 7.35%, leaving roughly $60 to $70 of profit per console, depending on your tax rate. Your fees, shipping and sales tax will differ. Prices can move a lot around a release day, especially if restocks land.
Can you cancel or return it at Target?
We read Target's returns page on November 4. The parts that matter here:
- Electronics and entertainment items (excluding Apple and Beats) must be returned or exchanged within 30 days.
- Video games are eligible only for exchange if opened, for the same title.
- Target says it reserves the right to deny returns, refunds and exchanges, including in cases of fraud or abuse, and that holiday and limited-time collections may have modified return policies.
So an unopened game or console is the safest to return; an opened game is exchange-only. We did not read Target's order cancellation policy for pre-orders, so don't assume you can cancel one.
Flip, hold or pass? Our take
This is analysis, not a promise.
- Flip: the team called console prices profitable but "maybe not profitable enough for some." If you hold a confirmed console at $519.99, the October numbers left a modest margin after fees.
- Hold: the team said on October 22 that they like these long term and planned to put some away. That's their opinion, and a restock wave could push prices down instead.
- Pass: if you'd pay above retail for a $69.99 game or a $519.99 console, the gap is thin once fees and shipping come out.
